So I have this problem, that just came after I installed my FMIC. I was able to push the throttle relatively easy and had no problems. Now I push it and it is harder to push and doesnt return. I will start it up and it will idle fine, tap the throttle and it hangs out around 2000 rpm and doesnt return, till I go to the engine bay push the throttle plate closed amnually by where the cables attach. then it idles high still like 1000. How would a FMIC install change that? I didnt mess with the throttle body at all besides removing the bolts to change the elbow. I am so confused. i cant even enjoy driving it cause when I accelerat it is slow and then the throttle doesnt return when I let off.

if its enough to hold it open then you should be able to hear it rub with the car off and just move your throttle manually. you shouldn't have to take anything apart. if stays open that way then take it apart and sort out the issue that way you won't have to ruin a gasket on your elbow if you still have it. although if its rubbing your going to have to anyway

just make sure that the T-cable is looping around the intake manifold the way before you did the install, for it doesn't like being kinked too well ....

It's in the same spot as it was before, I checked that first cause it was my initial thought.

Catching means encumbered movement - anywhere.

I know that, but you said inside or outside the the UICP, there is alot of places inside and outside the UICP. Since I am having throttle problems I am assuming you mean at the throttle body.

Ya, but the thing is when the car is off the pedal isnt stiff and it moves normally. The only thing I notice is the the cables have just a bit of slack in them, I am going to tighten them up and see if it helps any. Maybe spray some WD40 and get it a little lubed.

I had a similar problem with my stock cruise control cable. it had a tendency of jumping off the throttle body.

I got my non cruise control cable off of a colt/summit. I'm sure there's a couple of those at any junkyard. It fits perfectly with no problems other then it being a little long.
