Hi guys, unfortunently there is not a easy way to to describe the issue, so will try my best ( please bear with me).

Recently made detailing under the hood on my 2G 4G63 NA, nothing major simply took out intake tube and headers.
The headers were removed, and the block ports were cleaned using a drill with a metal brush, a lot of black stuff came out but eventualy ive managed to clean it.

The car has been sitting for 6 months now, but i finaly managed to get all cleaned and put back together.

The first time ive tried to take it for a run, noticed that the gas pedal was stuck, so i tought that it could be cable that melted or something, so went under the hood and noticed that the problem came from the actual throttle body as i could not easily rotate it. The cable was laying there and could be easily moved / pulled.

So eventualy ive managed to apply some force in order to rotate it and it got loose, grabbed my wd40 and sprayed the outside handle (where the cable attach) hoping that this would fix the problem.
However, the issue is still there, and the pedal often tends to get stuck right on top, it doesent get stuck as hard as it was on the first try but enought to make the car dificult to control specialy at lower gears, as one can not apply gentle pressure to the pedal, meaning by the time it gets "unstuck" you are applying way to much force and the car sort of "jumps" on you. Please note that it gets stuck only at the begining, moving all the way down and up again works as expected.

Ive tried to spray some wd40 on the throttle body hinges ( on the inside), some black stuff came out, cleaned it as much i could, but it doesnt seem to make a diference.

I wonder if anyone came across this before or what can you sugest?

Throttle body cleaner. Take it off the intake manifold. Disassemble it and clean if you need to, or else replace it. Sounds like you got some grit from your cleaning efforts into the moving parts.

In any case, a really dangerous situation. Good luck!

No, at this point only cleaned it in place... Will give that a try.

I can’t see why it would do that from just cleaning the outside. Remove the cable from the throttle body and check the throttle again

Thank you, will try that.

Also check out the throttle plate stop adjustment. If that is backed out, the throttle plate will catch on the throttle bore and stick a little. It's unlikely that you moved that while cleaning the outside of the throttle body but it's possible.

You mean the SAS screw as picture attached?
