Hey all,

My throttle cable grounded out last night and welded itself. I looked all night and again this morning and I can't find a replacement to purchase. I find them for 1gs and for Galants but not my 98 gst.

Does anyone know where to purchase a replacement throttle cable? Tia.

I think this is what you need Tia
Does your car have cruise? This is a NON-CRUISE 2g cable.

Marty

Did you figure out that the engine wasn't grounded properly so it made a new ground thru your cable? Put some ground wires from the battery to the engine, usually at the starter attachment bolt. Just a tip.

The ground cable from intake to firewall broke. Just an odd situation. I did some added reading on the form because I noticed I never see engine bays with this awful black box. I think the ca8919 is what people recommend to bypass cruise control box

Yes, the 8919 is the non cruise cable. If you need a cruise control cable, post up a WTB ad as a lot of people remove their cruise. There has to be one laying around someone's garage floor! :thumb:

Tia, dont rely on that little strap from the firewall to get the job done. You should have a dedicated ground cable coming from the battery and attaches at the starter hold down bolt on the trans/engine matting surface where the starter is held onto the motor.

You're cracking me up. TIA= THANKS IN ADVANCE. my name is Rod.

Yes I agree, I'd like to upgrade the ground cable, was just mentioning that it broke off.

Sorry but glad I made ya laugh Rod. ROFLRockauto had that cable in stock when I checked and put an extra ground or 2 to the motor and it will be much happier.
