Resolved The recommended transmission fluid for my 95 Eclipse GS from the dealer

Definitly go with amsoil 5w-30 mtf. Am lucky enough to know a local amsoil dealer that sales it part time out of his house. He says thay spend millions in research on there products. Thats why you dont hear of them as much as other oils. Thay spend more money on research than advertising. I run it in my motor also i go to him every 5,000 miles the first 5,000 he just changes the filter and adds a half qt of oil the next 5 he changes the oil and filter. It cost a bit to get started but it is worth it in th long run

What evidence do you have that Mitsubishi's/Chrysler current recomendation for fluid IS the ATF+4? I've called a dealership and mitsubishi and mitsubishi said texaco, but I told them I can't find that so they said to call a dealership which told me to use BG. For now I wouldn't expect anyone to use anything other than what a dealership recommends it's more likely "some guy" off the internet is gonna lie about transmission fluid than someone who works for the mitsubishi dealership, and yes I'm absolutely positive about telling both mitsubishi and the mitsubishi dealership that it's non turbo.

!!!!! DID He just called Bullet, "some guy" and a Lire?? :notgood::nono:

Or a'm i wrong???

I believe the proper way to diagnose his statement uses the term "liar" not sure what a lire is.....

In anycase, I would trust BULLET. Ban this new guy who apparently didnt read the rules before posting....

:applause:

Lol, guys, I appreciate the support. As I said this subject has been worked over quite a bit on various different forums. My intent on posting was to try to be as concise on the subject as possible while giving supporting information from other strong sources. I beleive that if the OP read through the links that I posted (with suspicion that he did not), he would see that there are other more qualified individuals making their positions known. There are just so many other threads on this subject, but I tried to find the best overall, information.wise.

IDK, I pulled these trannies down and have seen....nvm, the OP seems to insuate that I and many others are liars (for what ends I don't know. Maybe Amsoil will read this and be so excited by my support that they will send me money :p). No matter right or wrong, if something should happen to his tranny it will be because of those liars at dsmtuners.

Therefore I strongly advise the OP to buy whatever his dealership said to get and leave it at that.

Let it ride guys, no reason to continue this conversation.

I didn't call bullet a liar or anyone a liar. I said that there is a POSSIBILITY that SOMEONE could lie or in nicer words recommend something that shouldn't be used. Only thing that was directed about bullet specifically was asking him for evidence on ATF+4 being the recommended fluid. Hell he might be right for all I know, but I don't, and I won't know until he provides some evidence.

He did provide evidence. He provided links to two very thorough and informative resources. Did you click either of them?

Anyone could lie... you could make the claim that dozens of enthusiasts, whose passion is collecting and distributing information related to 2GNT's, are a part of some grandiose conspiracy to lie to you. You could also make the claim that one or two uninterested and uninformed technicians at a Mitsubishi dealership simply don't know what they're talking about. Which one seems more sensible?

okay well I'll check those links out, and there were many opinions about whether or not atf+4 should be used or not because I saw people posting in this thread that only the dealer fluid should be used or it'll wreck the transmission. So it's not like everyone's telling me to use ATF+4.

If you look back at this thread, ALL the newer members are telling you not to use ATF+4. :D

Could I just use regular ATF fluid and not ATF+4?

When I bought my filter they looked it up and the computer showed to use ATF and the guy told me it only took only 4 qts.:hmm:

ATF+4 is Chrysler specific fluid. Use it where it is recommended it is not the same as Dexron.
