I don't either however myself and Shane were first in line to give you props but somehow you seemed to ignore that. I guess I can rub anyone the wrong way, but Shane is the coolest cat around here.

I guess I got all carried away and caught up in the moment. Its still a shock to me that the day went so well. It was way beyond my expectations for the first time out with this setup. Yes you guys where the first in line and THANK YOU!!! I dont have a problem with either you or Shane.

So the next track visit planned is in January Justin? Why so far away!

Also Nate C. if you see this, we never did get a weight from your car that I saw, did you ever get it on a scale? I assume it was around 2500 race weight?

    Thanks man, and I will

Shane, tracks in this area are all closed for the winter. In January I still have to tow 2 hrs away to race. But that tow will be worth it.

I never did get a real weight for the Yellow car in 2010 14b prep, but I'd have to guess about 2300-2350 + driver. (I was 250+ then). Remember, the liquid ic kit is like 75lb alone. The auto swap is big weight as well. The car was gutted, but still has lots of heavy components.

Makes sense Nate, forgot about the liquid to air, kind of counteracts the weight loss of the fuel cell which is part of the reason I was thinking you were lighter. Also the auto is quite a bit heavier then the manual trans. I'd say your pretty accurate in your estimates.

I pulled the entire dash and interior chassis harness out today, labeled alot of things to get rid of, should be fun. Starting the tear down of it here in a minute. After this the next day off I'll tackle all the wiring in the engine bay.

I'd say the auto awd trans is an easy 100lb penalty compared to the manual trans. It takes like 13quarts of fluid!

Has to stay streetable. But by that I mean all working lights, blinkers whatever. I have to be able to look legal enough to drive to the track and back, including whatever weather I might face. There is still a ton that can go. There hasn't been heat or air for a while anyways. I got it started pretty well and now I'm in a treestand looking for dinner. More wiring tonight.

Im still not convinced the auto is an advantage with the 14b but it is hard to argue with your results. So 2013 return of the yellow 14b bomber right?

Ok nevermind. I was gonna suggest just ditching all harnesses except the engine. it was easier to rewire for power and switches that way.

Yeah, it would be nice, but until I have a truck and trailer this is it. Should still be able to shave some good weight. I'd like to come in at 2500 race weight for next year, so another 100lbs goal. Shouldn't be too hard even without carbon/fiberglass and lexan. I'm already ten down, plus thirty if I man up and drop the exhaust. Alot of other little things are going to go too.

Yup, already planning out the build. We have a new baby boy in the house, so once that settles down, I'll get cracking on building it again.

Seems like I need to drop more weight!

You guys are probably not even going to acknowledge this, since i'm not so popular on here..

but if you loose the starter and just push start the car every time you could be saving an easy 20-25 lbs right there :p just have a couple buddies with you at the track to help you push it

I think the starter motor is more like 7.8lb. (Iv shipped out quite a few).

I know my car likes to stall on throttle tip in when cold on ethanol, not that bump starting an auto is a feasable alternative. Haha. Maybe a big cart with a battery/motor and a big ass 1/2 extension bar....start the motor through the driers side wheel well via the crank pully center bolt.

Now there's a thought ha ha! But it does go to show there are some things you just shouldn't remove. There is a point where you've gone a little too far. :sneaky:

I've had my fair share of car dying after a burnout or getting to the line. Starter stays for me.
