ok guys im swapping out my 2.0 gst motor to a 2.4 witch i plan to build on make turbo. i no i need a new transmission as well but i would like to no what exsactly im going to need to do to make this work like am i going to need different axels etc if someone can help me that be awsome. i just need to know everything that needs to be bought in order to do it

If I remember right everything swaps right over won't need much. Even throw the 63 head on the 64 bottom end.

Your tranny will bolt right up to the 4g64 so keep that, axles will stay the same as well. Now as far as swapping the motor you mean swapping the block with a 2.4 and keeping the turbo head for a hybrid or actually going SOHC for some reason? Explain a little better if you can.

im keeping the 95 head i just want to swap the 2.4 block into my car but i wasnt sure if i needed a different tranny then what i have now in my car right now i have a 7bolt 2.0 turbo the only reason im doing a 2.4 is because i cant find anyone from connecticut selling a 7bolt block a or a 6bolt or any where even close

these are the things i was told i was going to need. ecu, new wiring harness, and tranny because couple said you need a different tranny so if someone can legit let me know exsactly what is needed that would be awsome

and a different intake manifold

No you don't need wiring harness no you don't need a tranny you will need to do something about a tune though. I have a 7 bolt short block but I'm clear in Idaho LOL.

would a dsm lynk work i have that now my stock ecu will work ?

so what exsactly do i need then just so i have a general idea i dont need change tranny or ecu or intake manifold

Nope, I can't remember on the timing belt with that bottom end so i would look that up. but everything else goes right on no need to buy a tranny or ecu or axles. Get the short block throw the head on it and do it The same way you would a normal 4g. Oh and swap the pans from the motors since one has a oil return and one doesn't.

ok sounds good but were should i look up about the timing and my head that on my block now tht will bolt rite down ?

Yup bolt right on. Just hit up Google I'm pretty sure belts same its just gonna be really tight due to the extra 6mm of deck height.

ok thanks bro! you think ill make some good power im mean im completly building this block plus my head and everything im going to need a different intake manifold right

First of all, where did you get this 4g64 block? If it's from a 3g Eclipse, Outlander, Might Max, etc. it will not work with your transmission. To use a DSM/Galant 4g64 block in your GST you basically need:

4g64 DOHC cam gears from 94 Galant (or remark yours, search for info)
4g64 DOHC belt from 94 Galant (wouldn't recommend using 4g63 belt)
4g64 oil pump/front case (alternator won't bolt up using 4g63 case)
Your 4g63 oil pan on 4g64 block
Block extra oil drains in the 4g64 block
Knock sensor needs to be installed somewhere on the block

That's pretty much the big stuff. You will also want better pistons before making much more horsepower. The 4g64 uses 7-bolt turbo rods, but much weaker and higher compression pistons. If you plan to build the block first, you'll use standard length 4g63 turbo rods and 4g63 86.5mm pistons of your choice

(there is a better site that seems to be down currently, I'll keep looking)
