I have just completed a 1gina2g swap with an automatic transmission. I installed the kiggly racing conversion kit that includes the thicker plates. I also turned the pilot bushing around and grinded it down like John at IPT recommends.
My thinking is, the torque convertor and ring gear have moved closer to the starter motor and now the starter motor wont disengage....
Should I be adding spacers to allow for this, or is there another type of starter motor?

Are you using this plate?

You may have forgotten to install the adapter plate between the flexplate and the crankshaft flange which 7 bolt don't have.
