High idle after new starter?

Alright guys this problem has never happened to me before nor have I heard of anyone else with the same issue. I had a starter go out on me, I got it to start at a nearby casino where it broke down. I brought it home and let it idle. It stalled right before i got in it to bring it in the garage, when i tried starting it, the starter was making loud noises and such but i finally got it to start. I noticed the idle spiked right after startup to about 2800 rpms and stayed there for a bit then idled down just a bit and wouldnt come down. New starter same idle problem, help!

Is the switch working or not?

Well it must be if my idle is back to the way it was before I had this high idle problem.

It broke off but the car now idles the same with or without the ground wire hooked up ( i held it on the connector ) . My luck keeps getting better. Replaced the alternator with a friend last year and now its bad again.

Wait until the weather changes. Car may be idling now but don't count on it to stay that way. The ECU still does not have all the information it needs to control the ISC for all conditions. In my opinion the car is not fixed, it's merely idling well at the moment.
