Dude, nice post.. the whole thing just kinda flows!! Anyhow, being a residential A/C tech I can see your pain.. On my house is a unit I got from a customer that was working just fine but they added on so needed more push, made in 82 it still to this day keeps every room in my house at 71•…We still have this MK3 Supra in for A/C inop that’s finally not so inop. This has been a weird one.
First retrofit to 134a was halfassed. It was low on refrigerant.
The HVAC module was sent out to get “fixed”. It wasn’t.
The A/C amplifier needs multiple inputs and outputs to ground the A/C relay circuit. It just wouldn’t. It came down to a bad coolant temp switch wire from the switch to the amp. It has resistance in the wire so the amp would cut ground thinking it was overheating.
The signal out of the module to the amp was also just not there.
There are also multiple differences between the 89-92 wiring for a couple things. Mainly the 12 pin that doesn’t quite have 12 pins as it only needs 8 inputs and I had random wires with random voltages going into nothing. Even the MK3 gurus were like “whaaattt?” I’m just glad it works finally. I wasn’t sure if I was getting lost in the sauce staring and wiring diagrams or just not getting it. If you’ve ever chased wires and finally found the issue it’s like having a kid for the first time.
I am no writer and I tend to think I jumble thoughts but thank youDude, nice post.. the whole thing just kinda flows!! I would say that feels more like being beamed up to heaven..!!
Yeah, not much room to be travelling down the wire highway in these things.. I’m 6’7” tall so it’s like being a contortionist just to get in and drive, and mines lowered a wee bit so it makes the task even harder…I am no writer and I tend to think I jumble thoughts but thank you
The wiring I was talking about. 89 is different then 90 but 90 diagram works on 89. The two blues are 12v and not a single person knew what I was talking about with the random wires that ended into nothing at the end of that sub harness. Some have 0.8-9V. Some had 12v. It has been a weird one.

30 grand is quite abit but it’s a nice pool.. I was looking at digging in for a ‘drop in’ pool.. made from plastics or gel they have it craned over the house and dropped in the hole I would prepare.. the cool thing about it is the chemicals don’t leach into it, like concrete..The current reason my Talon is collecting dust in the garage (even though it is almost drivable again) is my pool remodel. Fiberglass is THE WORST.

Each of those circles is an osmotic blister I had to grind out. I'm about halfway around the pool. Once I'm done with that I need to go around and fill in each of those divots with some vinyl ester structural putty (basically really fancy Bondo). Then I need to sand it all smooth before I can epoxy over it. Then I have to grind all the old epoxy off the concrete.

The only thing that sucks more than this is the $30k+ quotes I got to have it done.
, tore the back end out looking for the nut end of bolts to take it out and all I had to do was pull the license plate and there’s an access hole.. duh.. Our remodel was around 30 but that included the entire patio getting remodel pavers over the cool deck and the inside of the pool getting Pebble Tech and new waterline tile. This was more than 10 years ago though. The current reason my Talon is collecting dust in the garage (even though it is almost drivable again) is my pool remodel. Fiberglass is THE WORST.

Yes it goes to exhaust. At one point you had a heat shield and there was a bolt there. I just connected a ring connetor and put it under the exhaust bolt/stud. New wire/braid might be in order.Just for giggles, who has ever seen a tow hitch on an eclipse..?? Not sure what the PO was doing with it, but there it is.. kinda thought it might have been some hillbilly tow hook or something but low and behold there’s the wiring for trailer lights.., tore the back end out looking for the nut end of bolts to take it out and all I had to do was pull the license plate and there’s an access hole.. duh..
At least it all got cleaned out and I know what makes it tick now, we became better buddies..
Oh yeah, does anyone know where this ground strap should be attached..?? The only place close enough is the where the exhaust flanges are but that sounds hokey to me.. thanks for some input guys

My 1993 talon had some sort of hillbilly tow hitch. It's just steel welded to the rear frame. Lol I never used it.Just for giggles, who has ever seen a tow hitch on an eclipse..?? Nice..!!! At least I’m not the only one.. mine was bolted on so it had to come off, I mean what are you gonna tow..?? Maybe a mobility scooter..?? That’s a nice ride by the way..My 1993 talon had some sort of hillbilly tow hitch. It's just steel welded to the rear frame. Lol I never used it.
You can see it peaking out down under the bumper. I also wouldn't really call it a hitch, it was only like a 1.5" receiver

Thanks Paul.. so I guess what it does is make sure the engine and frame are grounded as one.. new wire and connectors going in, thanks again, you sure are on top of things.. always happy to see your replies..!!Yes it goes to exhaust. A lot of people hitches like that on their cars for towing a small trailer with tires and tools for track days.My 1993 talon had some sort of hillbilly tow hitch. It's just steel welded to the rear frame. Lol I never used it.

Pools aren't very common here in the Seattle area so there aren't many pool companies, so they kind of have you by the balls for anything pool related. Our remodel was around 30 but that included the entire patio getting remodel pavers over the cool deck and the inside of the pool getting Pebble Tech and new waterline tile. This was more than 10 years ago though.
I understand that one.. I’m in so cal and they still got you by the nads.. pools are golden down here therefore they can charge what they want and you WILL pay the price.. I’m looking to dig the hole, pipe in the filter, set in the substrate and whatever I can do myself to offset the sky high prices.. just reroofed the place and that was a chore.. wanted to install solar panels,( have installed them when I was an AC installer but not having a contractors license forced me to have someone else do it, boo..), so they wouldn’t thrash my new roof..Pools aren't very common here in the Seattle area so there aren't many pool companies, so they kind of have you by the balls for anything pool related.
Really..?? It kinda makes sense when you put it like that.. I still like the hillbilly hitch moniker though..A lot of people hitches like that on their cars for towing a small trailer with tires and tools for track days.

You would think they would be plentiful here. Finding a good pool contractor is stillA lot of people hitches like that on their cars for towing a small trailer with tires and tools for track days.

My old pool solar trashed my old roof and caused so many leaks. I will never put anything on my roof.just reroofed the place and that was a chore.. wanted to install solar panels,
Finally getting started on my Neon for the year. I booked an appointment at the local muffler shop for Thursday to get the header splice done and new muffler installed, plus an alignment. I need to get it into a condition where we can drag it six blocks behind a truck, so gotta begin with brakes.
It is not a lot of fun to bench bleed and install one of these 4-port monstrosities. All four ports have a different thread size (!!) and the BMC kit didn’t come with 2 of them needed. Just a colossal mess installing it, I hated every minute of it but it’s all done and it has some pedal.

Also visited the U-pick and saw a $200k+ Maybach in the Chrysler/Ford section, where the average vehicle is a clapped out 15-year old Caravan. This place doesn’t spend more than $1,000 on a car. Hmmm…

The driveline in that thing is probably worth a fortune. Wheels, too. I just don't understand why it would be there when there are so many other shady junkyards that actually deal in that kind of thing.Huh.
Well Bucks has fingers everywhere.. but more puzzling is what the hell do they expect to sell off that around here? I've never seen a Maybach on the road
Are there any muffler shops here that can do true mandrel bends now?
Duals did my Lancer exhaust way back in the day, as well as bent and cut my intermediate intercooler pipe for my 1G. They most definitely didn't have mandrel at the time. The driveline in that thing is probably worth a fortune. Wheels, too. I just don't understand why it would be there when there are so many other shady junkyards that actually deal in that kind of thing.
I assume Duals would do mandrels, but I'm just going to Minute Muffler and telling them to chop some pipe out and weld a flange to fit a mid-length header, and clamp on a new muffler. I'd say even a monkey can do it, but I don't want to jinx myself because any failure is possible in 2025.

Which ESP did you go for? I started with the WROOM and the 8266 long ago and only recently checked in again.. only to see they're even more powerful, more feature-rich, and smaller overall. I've played a bit with the C3 and S3 variants. Nice stuff, would like to use one to reignite my 2G LED tail light controller.. if I could only find the time and the will.Since we love to share
I re-started my DIY drone- flight controller project, I got to far ahead of myself with the original version adding sensors and extra code just to make it less stable.
So I started over with a new microcontroller a esp32 vs an Arduino. And with a smaller frame , easier to control.
This is my latest open air test of my self written drone. This is all testing and far from presentable but it’s what I have for now.

The Preludes are about the only Hondas I'd ever own. Would definitely have one as a secondary (third) car again.. had a 90 very briefly. A H22 swap never materialized for it.Wifes Prelude started acting up on the way home the other day with some stuttering and then finally stalled out, but started right back up and got her home...as it always does.
