Well, I ALMOST got the storage building built. I'll finish it today but I got this far yesterday. I have caulking, instant foam and some extra sheet metal screws for seams that would be better with 1 or 2 screws to hold the seams together. It only came with 512 screws
Somehow, I also finished up the shortblock SBC, so now its time to make it a longblock! I am sure glad I had bought all of the major stuff before I retired!

Storage is a must... we run out quickly!

Boy that's always a true statement! TBH, I just want all of the car parts/boxes out of the house but safe from weather. I am only about 10' away from my shop's electrical box and it has a couple open places in it, so the little shed WILL have a light and an electrical outlet. My oldest son will take care of that for me so YAY! :thumb:
I'll get the trim and doors on today and VIOLA, ALL DONE! I have to give a BIG THANKS to my best friend, Todd. What a big help and good with just about any project. I worked on his GTO so he helped put in 512 screws for me. Win/win. :)

All done except laying the wood floor in and some insulating. Thanks to my best friend and my son!

Repairing heads for all makes and models. I did a all motor honda and a evo which did a number and torched his head really good. He was able to deform the coolant passage LOL. This was done at a machine shop with a 1970's miller LOL. I forgot to take pics of the all motor head but they really hogged that bad boy out. From what i was 500-600hp all motor :idontknow: I don't know enough about that platform but it was something different.

I wasn't thrilled how the battery was mounted in the clients car(just laying in the spare tire well) so before he picked it up this weekend I decided to make him a new mount. He has the cover to the box at his house.

The trailing arm is the wrong length so I guess this thing is something pretty to look at until it shows up.

I have a few more for you to burn!!!
I worked on the endplay for the retro-roller 400 SBC cam button. I ruined the 1st button, (forgot to recheck my dial indicator the last 2 shaves of the button and got too much end play).
.0040" is quite fine with me!
Fun stuff is getting ready to happen with this motor. :thumb:

I love those compact lifts. In my home garage the ceiling height is 8ft. I can't use a 4 post or 2 post lift with that clearance, but the compact scissor lift is perfect.

Currently getting ready to pour a new drainage gutter. A few years ago the tree service ran over it with a Bobcat. It was cracked anyway. I should have it poured before temps are below freezing nightly. We're sitting a a high of ~60 degrees for the next few days. It should be cured before the 20 degree nights incoming. It's a great workout swinging a sledge. Just have to be careful how much beer I drink LOL

Exactly my situation as well. Right now I'm about 2" from hitting the lights with 1 or 2 locks left but I have 4' of clearance to the bottom of the car which I can comfortably roll around under the car on a stool, SO much easier than laying on my back.

Next spring I plan to cut out a section of the floor and flush mount the lift, I should end up with the same space under the car with the lift maxed out.

Two questions:
1) got a product link?
2) at what points is it contacting the chassis?

1) https://www.capitalautoequipment.com/product/7716lb-double-scissor-car-lift-mrsl77/

*note the link photos aren't accurate, the unit is all black the the control box is fully enclosed(much nicer).

2) It comes with 4 high density rubber blocks that are under the pinch welds.

Being I live in QC and the CAE is in Ontario, I only had to pay GST on it as well, shipping was $390 to my door.

Not a bad price, especially given CAD funds. Out of my reach or willingness but I can definitely see you making a lot of use, for someone who needs to be under/around their car as it's off the ground.
I know that sounds bad, but you get what I mean :)
