Shopping for a BOV

I have been searching around for a cheap BOV. There are always a bunch of descent ones on ebay. I came across this one RS-TYPE BOV+TURBO BOOST CONTROLLER MIRAGE/ECLIPSE/TALON - eBay (item 140336814259 end time Dec-22-10 18:17:37 PST) . It comes with a manual boost controller, hoses, clamps, gaskets, flange, fittings, etc. for a great price. I have never bought a BOV so I am not sure what to look for when shopping for one. What do you think about the one I found?

Are you configured for that type of BOV (it will not recirculate, so you would need DSMLink to compensate)

Also, that is way cheap, doubt it would last long. Go with a used 1g BOV and recirculate it. They are rock solid.

if you want a super leaky, no boost holding and/or uncontrollable boosting bov/boost controller then go for it!

Like thomcasey said, just buy a 1g BOV and recirculate it. You can pick one up for around $30-50 shipped.

Keep your stocker until you are properly running enough boost that it starts to leak.

Haha. THat's why I figured I would post here before buying anything. Maybe I will just stick with my stock 1G BOV.

Also, when you get configured to vent the BOV to the atmosphere, the stock 1G actually sounds pretty good, they are just ugly to look at.

• Is made in China and probably will not last a year under normal use without some type of failure....if it even functions properly out of the box.
  
  
• Cannot be recirculated as-is.
  
  
• Will not fit your stock BOV flange without modification.
  
  
• According to the ad "It Can Hold Up To 1200HP Or 25 PSI Of Boost Pressure". Yeah f*ckin' right. Show me any vehicle that makes 1200hp at 25psi, and I'll guarantee it does NOT have a $25 Chinese BOV on it.

How do u use ecmlink to compensate? The only way I have heard of is using a blow thru setup in which ecmlink is not need just a gm maf with a maft.

That should do it keep the stocker, simple until it doesnt hold boost.,

Yea, I got the point by now . Like I said in my original post, I have never bought a bov before. Nor do I know much about them. I learn something new here every day.
