looking for an eagle talon wondering what i should be looking for,

want to have a strong car that can handle boost, what year should i be looking for,
i plan on rebuilding the engine, what is the most economical way to go on buying a car? project, stock, piece together........or??????

thanks if you have any other input that would be great thanks

4bolt rears were never in 1992s from the factory and 1993-1994 did not have the 6-bolt. I'd pick up a late 1991 to early 1992: 6 bolt and as mentioned the strongest 3rd/4th gear sets. And the swap in the 1993+ 4 bolt rear when/if you break the 3bolt. Get the late 1991 if you like popups. Get the early 1992 if you don't.

For looks 2g. either awd or gst. Stay away from non-turbo. LOL

Why should he stay away from a non turbo if he wants to hook it up and build the engine? If he gets a gst or gsx then hes gonna pretty much take out that turbo kit(which he paid the extra money for)and toss it aside along with the pistons and rods. Instead it would be better if he got a non turbo get and get a turbo kit with supporting mods (if needed) and pistons and rods then the only thing he will toss aside is the stock pistons and rods.

Because he won't need to go into the motor to make all the way up to 400whp reliably. Nor will he have to buy a turbo manifold (2g manifold is an upgrade to 1g guys), figure out how to oil the turbo, and drain the turbo. And, he'll have easy to bolton options like the e3 16g, link, ceddymod, evoscan, etc. = way more aftermarket for goals far beyond what the stock 420a (n/t) block can tolerate. And you can't easily convert a 2g n/t to awd or you can get a gsx already with awd. You don't even have the option to swap to awd with a 2g n/t. Those are a few of the reasons why.

thanks for all the replys, i think ill be looking for a 92-94, seems to have strong parts and great for a build, another question, my father owns a diesel shop and has TONS of those turbos they are large but will they still work?

Do a search on Holset turbos.

Are you sure? I've got a 92 Belize Green 6 /4 combo GSX in my driveway. When I got it it still had the silencer and a stock type air filter in it. Never beat on a day in it's life. Well, till I got it anyway:D

Build date 3/92
