:dsm: Today if everything goes well at the bank I am selling my 98 eclipse rs turboed to my brother! My question is what dsm should I get next? Im looking for something I can make pretty fast without spending alot of money into? Im not going for looks this time. So in your guys opinion what dsm should I get next? Thanxs.

Sorry I coudnt figure out what section to put this in!

I sure as hell can deny that the 2G looks better than the 1G. A clean 1G is damn sexy. Sure there aren't as many fugly, ridiculous-looking bumpers and bodykits, but who needs them?

Go for a 91-early 92 GSX. 91 will score you popup headlights and an aggressive eyeline when they're down, 92 will get you better front brakes and a stronger back-end, along with the ability to switch to projector housings instead of junk sealed-beams, and actually cast some light at night. The 1G seven-bolts (92.5-94) also don't have the infamous walk issue.. it's just the 2Gs that tend to get more than their fair share of that. You can do a hell of a lot more lightening on a 1G as well, which will make it hands-down faster and handle better with the right suspension mods than a 2G at the same power output. You'll also spend less on replacement parts and insurance. :)
Admittedly the aftermarket support isn't really there. A shortshifter you make yourself by cutting a section out of the shift lever and welding it together again. But on the power aspect.. well, that's where 1Gs shine. You don't get exhaust oriented toward best tone, you get best flow. Huge ports on the head and intake manifold reduce the need for porting to pull and push air. A larger throttlebody that you don't need to upgrade and screw with. Oh, and more aggressive stock timing and fuel maps, to match the lower compression pistons (read: able to handle more boost and make more power off of it). You also get the benefit of being much more likely to get a car with an EPROM ECU, so you can toss in DSMLink and tune properly, altering the ECU directly, instead of hacking the harness to pieces to slap in an SAFC and lie to try and trick the ECU into doing what you want.

I like the way you think LOL.

And the guy who said 1gs are ugly probably started in a honda.
I can admit a lot of 1gs arent in there best condition , but when you have one that has
nice tires, nice interior and nice paint job like mines, and like a lot of others then you have a classic and very clean looking beast...

No mater what you do make shore its low mileage or you will have loots hove maintenance to do.

It's like a knife in my chest to hear people calling 1g's ugly. Personally, i think they have much more character than 2g's. And you can't just slap on some stupid body kit as easy which i love as well. The only 2g i would get is a 98 tsi awd. Best looking dsm imo, next to the 92-94 tsi awd.
