So im just trying to figure what to do in the gas station parking lot

just load a new afr map on their thats 9.8 for stoich and 12.5 for wot
and then the math for the injectors of course anything else.

ive been told countless times just need to be told once more

dont hate me its my birthday

do i adjust dead time at all or just idle tune for it once e85 is in

Do your math to get the globals first using your injector size x .67. Make adjustments on the MAX octane table just to be leaner at WOT, you can leave everything else pretty much the same. Then dial in the deadtime and adjust the idle all over again.

You don't need to adjust your stoich because you are still displaying as if it was gas on your wideband. So aim for 14.7 at idle and cruise.

Happy birthday!

Thats the only part that confuses me i was reading about that and couldent understand the concept... why cant my WB read as good as a lambda

So i just lean it out in the WOT section and keep the stoich at 14.7

Will my wb still read 14.7 at idle and cruise and about a 12.5 at wot??
wont i be running to lean at idle because im not running 9.8 at idle??

Just trying to grasp..

It wouldent be that hard to input 9.8 for all the 14.7 inputs then gradually go leaner towards wot if thats what im supposed to do..

Sorry if im thinking to much into it

And Thank you

Exactly.

Your WB gauge actually measures lambda; it only displays 14.7 because people are used to dealing with gasoline scales. So it's easier just to keep thinking that way.

All you have to do is adjust the global fuel value to compensate for the extra fuel needed when you run an ethanol blend, and then continue tuning for the same stoich values as you would with gas. The only difference is that with E85 you can get away with a leaner AFR at WOT, so you can up those cells in the DA table to something like 12.0 (as a good start), rather than the 10.5 to 11.5 that you would probably want with pure gas. (Technically, you can also run leaner at idle and cruise, but you don't gain a lot and it's not that easy to do consistently).

I have a problem with the commonly accepted .67 injector scaling method for dialing in E85, but this isn't really the place to get into it. Suffice it to say that scaling your injector size by .67 should get you close on the global fuel value, but you may have to make some fairly large adjustments to get it correctly dialed in.

For my 940 cc injectors it would be -36 global right using the 450/(940x.65)-1

I get something between -28 and -29 with the scaling method. But at this time of year, your actual global value is probably going to end up closer to -34 or so....unless your E85 station uses blender pumps and maintains a true 85% ethanol in it's E85.

I have my global set to 34.3 and my deadtime is at 125
i had to lower deadtime that much becuase my comb FT was at -29.3 now it cylce -8 to about +2
i get 10.2 at WOT when my max oct table is set to 12.8 i had it set to 12 even and was getting 9.0 at WOT
Do i have a big exhaust leak or whats going on..

I get a stumble between 2000-3500 rpms then it runs fine i put my timing tables back to stock and get 0 knock so thats a good thing my car feels a bit faster but that little stumble only happends sometimes and its annoying
The stumble was alot worse when i didnt adjust my dead time and left it at my previous 91 octane setting of 370 for dead time
should i lower dead time until my COMB ft cylces +/- 5%?

I assume you have done all the normal mechanical stuff... like base timing, BISS adjusment, BLT and exhaust leaks, etc. If not, that has to be done before you start worrying about any tuning.

Otherwise, it sounds like your airflow isn't calibrated properly, which explains the rich AFRs, stumble, and the low deadtime. You shouldn't be worrying about any WOT pulls yet.

Post a log!

Judging by how much fuel you are pulling out with MAFComp, and how much you NEED to pull out above 900hz airflow (which hasn't been adjusted yet, and you're running pig rich), I'd say your global fuel value is off. I would lean it out to something like -34 and then start over on the MAFComp.

Also, set your DA AFR values to something more conservative, like 11.8 or 12.0...until you get your airflow dialed in. There is no reason to set them to 12.5 when airflow hasn't even been calibrated yet.

I am not sure when i tried tuning the maf comp..
is it DSMlink MAS/MAF Calibration Page
and just go threw each airflow slider starting at 2400hz?
and this is the same for the 2g maf correct.

but i will put global to -34

will make new log

What should my dead time setting be at for e85 is it the same as gasoline? for pte 1000cc it says use 450 micro seconds deadtime
Just want to make sure my fuel settings are correct before i do the MAF comp

By the way i really appreciate your information and pointers its helping a lot.

Ok so i did the maf comb and either i messed up somewhere really bad or the e85 is starting to free stuff and clog my tank

When i go to get on it at about 4500 rpms (doesent really matter what rpm's more about load) only when im in boost the rpms will drop to zero then back to where i was at the check engine light turns on for a second the turns off,i get a backfire and ecmlink forces the log to stop capturing as soon as it happends. Heres a pull of it happening and the log shuts down right before the rpms drop at first i thought it was fuel cut but my IDC is only at 50% my load factor is only at 1.70 my maf raw is only at 1100 so im thinking its clogging my tank or , my ecu is starting to fry some how or the eprom chip is popping out.
