Hey guys, I've been reading/searching on this for a week now and no definite answers yet. Here is what I do know, awd starter plate hacked to make it work, I am getting a fwd starter plate on Tuesday (I was the moron who ordered the wrong starter plate and installed it =(. I had my starter tested and it seems to work fine (says autozone). Brand new battery. New flywheel, clutch and pp. I'm thinking its the starter plate, but it's still has the 1/8 in gap at where the starter bolts are. It doesn't seem to be engaging all the way. What do you guys think is going on?

Hey buddy, i just replied to your email...there was 3 of them in my junk folder from the last few days.

You ordered the correct FWD flywheel from me. Just to make sure it wasnt a shipping error, can you confirm the part number on the box? It should be FID 161781.

I just confirmed the number on the box to be 161781 as you say, however I still have my doubts and will pull the transmission out soon and compare the flywheel to my stock flywheel.

Do you have the transmission guide pins? Do you have all the bolts bolting your transmission to your block? Sometimes if you miss a bolt it can cause the transmission not to sit flush against your block and the starter wont be engaging to your flywheel.

I do have all the bolts in for the transmission, I believe I have the 2 dowel pins on the left and right side of the block/transmission, but not 100%, I found something that could be one of the dowel pins. I've never dropped the transmission by itself also, any input?
