Not to much info out there on these turbo. Or at least any relating info to compare with. Everyone is hyped up about hx40. and some say s362ett. Just wondering what do yous think? Need to buy one soon. Cant find max boost or anything out there. Thanks in advance.

Depends on what hotside you use and are you talking hx40 pro or just the regular. I would think either way as long as your comparing them with the same foot print and similar a/r's the s362 will make a little more power at the same boost level but the hx40 will spool faster. For a more track car I would go t4 s362 for a more street car I would go with a either bolt on hx40 or a .70ar t3 hx40.

I was under the impression that the hx40 and the S362 had very similar spool times?

They do when I say slightly faster we're only talking 300rpms faster. They are very comparable turbo's. I would advise anyone looking into getting a new turbo to invest in either a holset or a borg ett turbo.

im lookin into the t3 .70ar exhaust i just wanted something that could give me a high level of flow n could push 40psi easily and itll be mostly track driven/some street stroker engine. im shooting for 650 at all four wheels. pump gas/spray meth and alot of boost. hx40 still sound good to you guys?

Yeah and not to mention it will be cheaper than a s362. I wouldn't try and push the limit like turbosharky I would just go with a .70ar hx40 like you said and try and push 40 psi and you should be good.

i guess im gonna go with an hx40 becuase the s362 is almost the exact same but $600 more. now the question is i have a dnp manifold with external wastegate mitsu flange. i also have an off brand t3 manifold with external wastegate both equal lengths tubular. what would be better for my power goal the bolt on or the t3?

both of them look exactly the same although the dnp is a lil heavier but its tig welded in sections and the offbrand t3 manifold is equal in tubular and only welded at flange and the collector. BW offers restricters when feeding off the housing for the holsets.

That is pure laziness though all you have to do is check the oil pressure before you go off beating on the turbo and your good to go.

Ahh, actually people have and still failed. No one knows what it really needs. I still have not found someone that had one fail that was oiling from the head. Seems to be a huge issue from the oil housing with no BS.

I was told from Bullseye tech for my Hx40 pro is to run it off the head and thats what im going to do.

Lag is all in the tune, honestly talking about +-300rpms of spool up is a waste of breath. If you have the motor to rev out high enough to make use of all the power its not gonna matter.

I been street driving my car for 4 months now. Gt4294 on a 2.4. It hits 25-26 by 5500, i rev to 8k right now, havent raised the limiter to 8500 yet. If you in the power range when shifting lag dosent matter. Driving on the street, downshifting gets rid of the lag, trust me LOL.

Nice manifold, looks like you will have plenty of boost control with 2 44s. Plus it will sound nassssty!
