Ok so when I rev my car in nutral or even driven it feels slow. The engine seems to slow down around 5000 rpm and wont go above 5800 almost like a fuel cut off but doesnt bounce their just wont go above it. I have checked the timing markes and all 4 are on, the cams, crank and balince shaft. I think this might be part of my boost problem. I did the soapy water boost leak test and found a nasty one at the BOV, so I seald it and now don't see or hear any others but still wont boost over 5psi. Almost ready to give up and buy a new moter with the turbo, anyone know a good deal for a 1g? O ya sorry its a 1990 GST eclipse.

You need to pull your ECU, first and foremost, to make sure that you don't have any leaking or bulging caps. This is a common symptom of such a defect. Post back with results after checking this and we'll move forward from there.

Ok thanks. Its behind the raideo right? Would the caps set a check engine light? My is off.

Not always. It's the gold metal box behind your radio. It's held in by 3 bolts, size 10MM if I recall correctly. Just unplug the harness from it, pull it out, take out the 4 screws, and check for damage on the board.

Ok ty. After class ill get on it and post resalts.

also just thought I would through this out their before I do my ecu check. The kid that owned it before me took all the vacume lines off except the FPR, PCV, and BOV and caped theim. No am I mistaken or shouldnt this set a cel? and if so its not so could that also mean a problem with the ecu?

Ok so ecu looks fine, caps good and normale. Only their is a 6132 etched in the metal fram by the plugs so im sure the computer has been apart before.
