2k rpm idle issue

A buddy of mine just replaced the seals on my 2g TB and I slapped it back onto the car and now it idles at 1800-2000rpm but it is pretty stead, doesn't really jump around a whole lot. What should I be idling at and do I need to do BISS screw adjustments or is it the TPS or something else? I scribed it before taking it to him but idk if that helped. The car idled just fine before the rebuild. Also is the BISS screw the same thing as "SAS" or "stop screw"?

I believe factory idle specs are 750-800 rpm's, although that is a little low for some people, my car idles best right at about 900. You use the BISS to set your idle when its at operating temperature. That is different than the idle stop switch which is a sensor on top of the TB screwed in near the throttle cable. Make sure the TPS is adjusted correctly as well, and the ISC motors are prone to failure on these cars. Has that been replaced lately? Also the FIAV can be adjusted, but that's mainly for your cold idle speed. Check the throttle cable as well so it's not too tight as that could cause a higher idle, and the last things to check for are vacuum leaks and boost leaks.

^^^ What he said. Check for vacuum leaks. If they are all tight, then the ISC needs to be tested. They are designed to keep the idle below 1500rpm. Typical signs of a bad ISC or disconnected plug for the ISC are surging idle from 1200-1500, and idle around 2000-3000rpm.
