very agreed on all the advice about rice... but i also think a ricer has alot to do with the way the person drives also.....

example: if someone drives a 89 honda accord with wing and fart can and will race anycar wether its a toyota camry or a toyota supra TT at every light, thats a ricer....

idiot example: my buddie works at oriellys and some kid came in asking about pistons and rings for his stock 91 rx7 a few weeks ago( he called me laughing about it), thats not a ricer, just an idiot who will probably become a ricer

i think it is more the personality of someone that makes them a ricer.... you just see the stickers, big spoilers, neon lights, and flashy hubcaps because there personality shows in how they mod there car

Fried up with some vegges and chicken. That is true ricers do drive like idiots there is a cavalier with a wing and a fart can that i can smoke with out trying. Not being ricey saying that. but its true. but he will fallow anyone with a nice car tell there at a red light side-by-side every time he sees you.

man there is some funny but true stuff on this thread. see i asked almost the same thing on another thread i made yesterday and some idiot locked it. i have my car gutted and doin a 6bolt swap fully built myself ive learned alot dsms since i got a couple years ago. but see when i got it, it hade a gt3 wide body kit form aerokits. i think it looks sick. i took it off because it wasnt done right but im going to put back on even though i think its not necessary but i like it. i know it wouldnt make my car faster but the 6bolt swap fully built would.

It's all in the eyes of the beholder as someone already mentioned. Plus, you can call my shit ricer all day long while I slam on my 4 ways a few cars in front of you. (Not directed to anyone here, just figure of speech.)

I get that a little bit from the muscle guys and it kinda gives me a chuckle. I don't worry about it when I take a Z06 Supercharged Vette to lunch.

Not trying to sound like a smartass to anyone here, just saw a post like that and made an example. Also, someone mentioned here a great point about a part being practical as far as performance. Also, everyone has a style and we should try and respect that.

Hahaha, to muscle car guys we are all ricers...they aren't going to look under a car and say "oh he has a 3" FuLL exhaust, he is NOT a ricer" they think ANY Japanese brand car is a ricer. Fucck em.

Who gives a damn what others think...Call their car a BEANER cause 98% of the parts in FORD CHEVY and CHRYSLER are made in MEXICO. Then take them to the track and pound the shit out of their heavy heep... they'll have a lil more respect after that.

altezza tail lights aren't rice....it depends on the color of the car. evos come with altezzas.... alot of ppl think chrome is rice... it isnt but people go over bored with it. personally i like neon lights and would put them under my car and in the foot well (). but if some one is gonna laugh at me in my car (calling it rice)it should be in the condition to give them a very good run for there money. to each is his owne just dont rice out a car and have it strait stock so that its struggling to lug around ## sound system... .

Ok i have to say it I'm Sry but why is every one 6-bolt 6-bolt 6-bolt if you think crank walk is the crank wobbling in the journals then do some research please and see how much you wasted swapping your 7-bolt for a 6-bolt get in Auto then you wound not have that problem or stop holding the clutch in at stop lights with high pressure clutch and you will not wear out the thrust baring. Also people with autos that have done a 6-bolt swap why?!?!?!? all im saying is do some rearch before you do something like that. like jumping off a bridge im doing it cause every one else is. And for some info my buddy had a 6-bolt swap done on his 95 talon and got crank walk in a week cause he had a really high pressure clutch and he holds the clutch in at every stoplight and revs it in 1st when he is holding the clutch all the time. Just some information for them people that think 6-bolts are bullet-prof.

I understand that but every body with an American car and there mothers call us rice. now a days everyone is ricer this ricer that. no one today just thinks to them self maybe in his mind it look good. they just have to put every one down instead of just saying "nice car" they have to say "nice rice" or "you go a fuel cell to storage the rice" i just want to see what people think on the subject. i know it has been around for a long time Because my dad was telling me stories about a 280sx(Datsun) that he had put a turbo on it and ran low 10's and people called it rice all the time. OOO and the one a hate the most is a silver EVO 8(lancer with swap) that hangs out with muscle guys and makes a makes fun of the sound my BOV makes when his is load as he!!. He sneezes and calls me rice and he also has stickers all over his car and big intercooler with really not many other mods. Also his car runs super rich and he thinks its cool when he shots flames out of his 2 1/2 cat-back.

Those things I made on that list are typically associated with ricers, I often see that kinda stuff on a $900 honda civic owned by some young punk kid. Don't take it so personally.
