I am having trouble choosing what oil pump I should choose for my car. I have 4 oil pump casings and 3 sets of straight cut oil pump gears.

I have measured all of them in their respective casings.

I am disappointed in the overall quality and feel of the ACL unit but can't tell if it would affect the overall performance of the pump.
Also has anyone swapped straight cut gearsets into the ACL units before?

1ACL/ORBIT (Brand new)

I need some input on this, has anyone ever used the ACL on a high horsepower engine?

I am building a fully forged engine
Eagle rods / Wiseco pistons
FP Red
Fully built head with 272's
Planning on reving it to 9000 RPM
And hopefully 550 hp.

I know there's many questions in this so hopefully it makes sense.

I haven't had any first hand experience with the ACL pumps but from previous posts I've seen they require anywhere from small - quite a bit of detailing / deburring but other than that I think lots of people run them.
 
I have an ACL.. immediately disappointed by the quality. Sits in a box.
I also remain the same, due to freshly being disappointed, with their bearing quality.

I chose to clean and reuse the OE pump on my engine.
 
I have run a couple of ACL pumps and revving over 9000 rpm. I hadn't had any issues.
But the oil pump is not something goes bad often and important, if the used OEMs you have are in spec, I would go with it. I prefer the used OEM than new ACL. My 2g's oil pump is 30 years old OEM, still working good.
Keep in mind that not to mix up the front case and the pump gear cover between those 3. The front case and the pump gear cover have to be matched, like cam caps or main caps.

Okay good to know! All of my OEM pump measured similar but the casings all had different wear marks on the inside, some worse than others. Will inspect all of them again and go from there.
