Like title states I put on a new fp green turbo, primed oil system, and first start up of new motor I could hear a light ringing sound(those that have heard inlet fins rubbing housing know the sound). Immediatly shut car off and sure enough for a second or two you could hear the fins slowing to a stop and rubing. Pulled intake off and same sound can be heard when turning by hand. I dont think this should be normal, am I wrong? Going to contact FP monday but until then I thought I could get a little feedback from you guys.

New feedline was used off the O.F.H. and system was primed both by drill before t-belt installed and also by pull fuse and cranking engine over.

Thanks for any oppinions and sorry so dang long.

Obviously doesn't sound right, you should contact FP ,it might be a defective turbo you never know.

Called FP today, and they told me to send it back so they can figure it out. Pulled it off and took a better look and it appears there is an alignment issue allowing the inlet fins to rub on one side of the housing and not the other. Once they figure it out I will post in case someone in the future searches for a similar issue. Back to the e316g for the time being.

UPDATE!
FP received it monday, turns out compressor housing was slightly out of spec. They called me right away and said they would realign, buff, and rebalance. I was very impressed at how quickly and responsibly they contacted me, goes to show the dedication from FP. Fixed and shipped the same day.

So you installed it on a new motor that hasn't been broke in yet, let alone the first oil change? Anyone else see a problem with that.

Nope. Nice clean filtered oil from the housing. As the OP already stated, the issue that happened with the turbo wasn't a problem with the engine regardless, but the turbo itself.

Glad to hear FP fixed the issue for you, and equally as glad you decided to contact FP prior to bitching about issues on the forums, rather than contacting the vendor like so many on here do.
