2G Need transmission help asap

Alright so got the motor in my 97 gst everything hooked up and ready and started it up everything's going good till I notice I have no gears at all. It's an auto trans will not shift into reverse or any drive gears any help would be much appreciated before I go thinking I gotta do a rebuild on the trans :/. I've already made sure the trans fluid was full.

If you werent careful when installing the converter into the transmission you might have broken the pump drive in the transmission, its not uncommon for it to happen if you dont know what your doing. Did that transmission work fine before?

The converter was already in the car when I got it and I'm not sure if it worked before I had it or not I bought it with the trans in there just figured usually when a tranny goes out u at least have a couple of gears not nothing at all.

You checked the fluid with it running right.

And in NEUTRAL and converter is bolted up to the flex plate....right?

If you tried to install the transmission with the torque converter already bolted to the engine you broke the pump gears in the trans.

Another test you can do is to check the level with the car off. Then crank the car up and recheck the fluid level. The level should drop if the pump is working.

converter was in trans when motor was put in flex plate is bolted up and fluid is good this one really kinda stumped me unless the previous owner did something stupid.

Gonna try that when I get home also gonna try pulling a trans line off to see if fluid is coming through to check if pump is working just got off work so will be finding out shortly.
