Sold my DD civic coupe and thought i was getting into an awesome deal until i got on the road heading home with this talon. noticed a change in the way the car drove performance wise, finally got it home around midnight and the car was soo damn hot i had no choice but to allow the turbo timer to run the full 10 and half mins. LOL. after that was done i checked the upper radiator hose and it was still very very hot.

issues so far:

1. coolant problem, thermostat? radiator cap? figure i'd replace the easy stuff to save the hassle.
2. oil leaking inbetween the motor and the firewall, you can smell and see the burning smoke coming from behind there and that where its leaking on the ground also. have not yet gotten underneath the car to pinpoint it but plan on it this week.
3. passenger side window is inoperable right now. if you put it down theres a chance you may not get it back up, luckily we got the automatic window and a pull of the window itself to raise it and close all the way!
4. No tuning software at all with all the mods that are on this car i can see why the 1st motor may have blew.
5. 2G maf with stock injectors and no way to tune the car.
6. 255 fuel pump, have yet to verify, no way to control fuel with stock injectors.

Mods so far:

tial bov
fmic with all IC piping welded together to limit couplers
evo3 16g internally gated
cyclone motor
o2 housing has dump tube coming off it
aftermarket downpipe Dungeon Custom Downpipe?
aftermarket catback system thats way to loud!!!
blue top 450cc injectors
walbro 255HP fuel pump def has that whine to it
non oem fuel rail unsure of which kind
auxilary fan was replaced and it hardwire to a flip switch inside the car. . .
Shepherd Stage 1 transmission IS there a marking on the shep trans to prove what it is?
Katana SKR wheels 17x8
greddy turbo timer
greddy EBC boost controller I do need to read up on this i have never used on, i'm a joe p fan!

update.
As of last night i talked to the guy i bought the car from and he is not trying to work anything out at all. I really have no way to go the legal route so i'm out $2000 roughly this car as NADA states is worth $2025 due to mechanical issues. SOOO chalk up and deny him from selling anything in as much as i can without going out of my way :) and to make my money back. BUILD STARTS.

Just a mock up, everything still needs to be tightened down and obviously installed.

Ran the oil feed line to the turbo today, then realized i forgot to remove the oem fitting from the oem waterline coming off the water pipe (front of block). found out it is seized/stripped in there. Soo thats an issue.

Thought/Question i have. Is it possible to start the motor, to try and work some minor bugs out if i block off the water line (not on the turbo but where the come from off the block and such)

saw jeffgst on dsmlink has never ran water lines on any of his BB turbos along with a bunch of others on there. I do plan on running water lines but trying to get the car back on the road and driveway before that happens is the concern. I had a coolant issue with it boiling after normal driving so i Called JNZtuning and had them ship me 160* thermostat with gasket, new radiator cap, oil filters, and a new dipstick for now. but i want to get the coolant issue out of the way using this stock radiator.

Oil feedline was ran today also looked good on the car!

RC 1200cc injectors and 5Bar map sensor came in yesterday and the day before. Next week i'm going to work on getting that fitting out of the water pipe on the front of the block, it seems to not want to play nice.

I gotta say that set up looks way better then your original shots. I still say its a good buy. Even if you got ripped. I got my 2g with an "oil leak" (Blown Turbo) and I still love it.

What size wheels and M/T's did you get? Car looks nice, except for the stated mech. issue's. Keep us updated.

thanks!

15x7 volk te37s
235/60/15 MT drag radials
i forget the offset i think its +38mm

update:
*Installed a waterpipe onto the car that had an extra nipple on it near water pump, going to need to cap that off somehow.
*14mm water fittings where install onto the turbo.
*Mounted turbo back onto the manifold.
*Oil feed line was ran to side of head.

Need to pick up/get done:
*Oil return line gaskets for FP blue oil return line
*Barbed hose fitting for water pipe
*3/8" hose to run for coolant lines
*flexable exhaust piping (from advance auto) to extend the dumptube for proper clearance
*weld downpipe with Vband flange, and hack canister muffler and weld magnaflow muffler

Have but need to install:
*1g dsmlink
*aem 5bar map sensor
*innovative LM-1 wideband
**i'm sure i have a bit more i can't think of right now WAY to many parts laying around the house.

why are you running your oil feed off the head instead of the oil filter housing??? just curious cause alot of people get better oil pressure from the housing? but over all its good. good luck and keep us posted

thats where it was coming out of one the 16g that was on the car  thanks for the comments everyone. I have a little ways to go and very little time to work on it here as of late. Only knowing half what im doing it slowing me down quite a bit im sure too. But i got some good people talking me through it.

Pulled the eprom ecu out of the talon this evening, guy i bought the car from has it listed as eprom with stg1 dsmchip. WRONG! noneprom. so now with little cash at the moment i'm set back once again and in need of a 1G eprom ecu to be able to get socketed for dsmlink.

Here's what i'm thinking. . .

I have this FMIC core that i was going to use on my 2G now its a pretty good size core, not sure on specs.

obviously i will need some piping made up but thats not the big deal. just curious if it is good to use( aka will it fit) on the 1G

Nice setup you got going I wish I could afford to do so many parts at once. I'm pretty sure that is 24x12x3 because it is the same one I have.

i know its not going to fit cause of size but the way the end tanks are set on this it should be fine right?!

I started to make a list tonight of what all i still have to do to the talon. This is what i got so far.

Car cover for winter season

walbro 255HP (need to insure theres one in the tank, if not i need to pick one up)
fuel pump rewire

install boost gauge
install water temp gauge (anybody have a how to write up?)
install oil pressure (anybody have a how to write up?)

change fluids in:
Rear diff. (what to use?)
transmission (what to use?)
transfer case (what to use?)
oil (what to use?) I've always used 10w30 mobil1 synethic in my 2G
coolant/water

install innovative LM-1 wideband (or do i have to install this using dsmlink?)

fuel pressure regulator needs to be assembled and installed

install oil catch can

2g mas was already wired into the car, now is that safe to use still and to what power level do i need to change it for gm maft setup?!
