get a buddy who knows what he's doing to show you how to properly use an safc2. They're great controllers for the price. I've never had dsm link or anything like that and I've had a couple of good running cars with just an afc. Also refer to vfaq.com for your questions about mod lists and hp and tq. EVERY MOTOR is different.

My 1g GSX had 450's and walbro 255 and supporting mods and I was running 16psi all day and the car never gave problems. I loved it.

So if i get a wideband i should be safe as long as the a/f are good?.. How hard is it to install a SAFC on a 1G eclipse?.. A SAFC would be good for now until i can afford dsmlink?..

17psi is pretty risky with a stock fuel set up; you may want to turn it down to 14ish.

Toss the blinky pos A/F gauge and get a true wideband. Then invest in some type of logger so you can monitor the car. Search on here, there are numerous options as far as logging goes from free software to software you pay for like pocketlogger, etc.

Good luck:thumb:

I got a datalogger, AEM Wideband and Neo AFC on the way. FTW

Is a NEO AFC good for a temporary setup until i can get dsmlink?..

well from what ive been reading i think im getting a AFC and a logger with a Stage 3 keydriver chip and EPROM ECU with some 850 injectors. i just gotta learn how too tune.( most likely go too a dyno with dsmlink :hmm:) we'll see what happens. ill post when i get some numbers on this thing.

Id say as of right now. You might be running in the 220-240 range. Just because you do not really have supporting mods. The AFC can only control up to 660-680. Im running 660's and my Safc, on high is set to 45-46 on the negative. But good luck. If you got the money. I would go straight to DSMlink. You know your going to need it later on anyways.

i got it pretty cheap cause the body is about 6 out of 10. the front left quarter panel is a little mangled and the rear left quarter panel and bumper are pushed in. The CF hoods finish is cracking off too. other little dings here and there. in the long run the paint is in very good condition seeing the car is almost 13 years old.

Sorry, your terminology is a little out dated. Your car has 2 quarter panels, those are your rear body panels, and 2 fenders, those are your front body panels.:D

I'm running a small 16g, RC550's, Walbro 190, 2g MAF, AFPR, 2 1/2" Intercooler piping and I'm running 20psi with 40psi fuel. I dyno'd back in May and got 284HP..... I'm using a TurboXS RFL too atmospheric, EEPROM but no chip yet (yea I know).

Before the car was at this setup, without any mods I was running 15psi all day. I wont turn up the boost any more than 20 before I get ARP studs and a MLS Gasket. Hope this helps.

Without any timing control on a car with a N/T timing map I would error on the side of caution and stay under 8psi or less until you have a little more control over other things.

But then again I wouldnt even consider the FMU route so maybe someone that has can chime in as reality is we work with what weve got sometimes

Do you still have the stock fuel system? If you dont then you should wait to up the boost, You could get it up to about 16psi without hitting fuel cut though.

the t25 maxes out @ 16psi and I've heard the stock injector's duty cycles are reaching their limit. i think you'd hit fuel cut with a t28 since it flows more but there's only one way to find out!

yeah you really should get a logger to determine how much would be safe. In the mean time I'd stay around 12psi if I were you.
