yeah only 14 or 15psi no more than 15 to be safe and vent the BOV so you wont have any problems with your idle. :thumb:
This is the second post I read in 5mins where you advised someone to vent their BOV :nono:, please search and read up on the subject of venting before you post again.

That would be a long list which absolutely does not include "vent your BOV". Don't take what I said personally, your involvement is appreciated and has been helpful for the most part, just got to make sure you only comment on subjects you know, not what you heard. :thumb:

Yup no advice is better than bad advice :thumb:

Okay guys, I almost put this in the Newbie forum, but I figured I'de get a more accurate answer if I put it here. I'm wondering what the maximum dailer driver "safe" boost level would be with this setup, and also the "recommended" boost level.

Need more info or mods? Please ask.

After setting a base psi I'm hoping to get megasquirt and tune up the car with it, but until I get it I'll just be using the SFMU.

I'm looking for a nice high psi range that my turbo can handle, and also not too high of a DC on my injectors. Something moderate but strong, and I'm also intersted to see what this setup is capable of. Just wanted to get some expert opinions before I turn up the boost and blow the hell out of my engine by running to lean or overworking my turbo.

Thanks.

15 psi is pretty safe for that setup. i think suieclipse said he ran daily with the sam setup at 15 psi. he also dyno'd with that setup at 21 psi i think. he said his injectors were at 100%dc. the numbers were like 298hp and 270 torque at 21. i would not do the 21 psi thing though.

Well I thought he listed his numbers at 337whp, but I could be wrong.

I'd say 10-15psi daily should be good if you haven't looked at the air fuels and stuff like that on a dyno.

Just make sure your narrow band stays in the green under full boost, If its in the yellow I'd be worried considering you haven't looked at the real air fuels using a wideband.

The LC-1 and XD-1 are definately high up on my "to-buy" list, but until then it looks like I'll be running 15 psi or lower. Thanks again.

I have a quick add on...I have researched the forum and I have heard that if you go over 15 psi on our cars you have to start messing w/ the timing. Now is that at 15psi or at 16 or more? B/c I have a similar set up and was thinking of 13-14 psi daily, but if I could do 15 w/ out messing with timing then I will, but if not then 13-14 still rocks! I hope somebody can answer this thanks.

Alright, so I thought my turbo seals are going but turns out they're still fine but I've bought a rebuilt 14b off ebay. I've done the solenoid free mod so I'm wondering if it would be safe for me to put the 14b on before I put in a boost controller and a boost gauge. Also, how should I put my turbo on storage?

As long as your boost solenoid is controlling boost, its safe to run the 14b. It'll still run stock boost. Once you get the boost controller is when you really need to have a boost gauge.

When you store a turbo, just make sure the bearings have oil. Keep it somewhere dry.

He said it very well. If you dont hook your solenoid back up or what ever just get a cheep bc and but that in and buy a guage they are easy to hook up or but like the turbo xs and turn it all the way in and then back out 1 or 2 turns and it should be at a very low or stock level.

So to the N/T w/ Turbo guys was that a yes or no? That 15 psi should be fine and you don't have to mess w/ timing unless you go 16 lbs. or higher?
1993eclipsgs is right. each car will be a little different. i have heard of a few people running 18 psi with no timing help. you should be safe at 15. i have never heard of anyone having timing problems there.

1993eclipseGS I wasn't trying to blow you off, but alot of 4G guys like to talk out there butt, so I was just saying. Sorry. I just wanted to here from one of the N/T turbo guys whos advice I trust. Thanks though I do appreciate the help. You too Selmerguy. I have been on the forum alot over the last year or so, so I am pretty straight on my research, even though I haven't really posted anything until now. I will just see how much I can push w/ out pulling timing. Thanks for the help guys.
