Max boost on TD06h 20g

so would a wally 190 and say 950cc injectors give me low idc's but still allow me to max out the turbo on pump. I see no need to go bigger then this for what im looking for. The turbo should spool by 3000 with my 2.4l as i have been told. I am looking for upper 300 whp like 375 or so. Would this be a good setup for what im looking for, i really wanna stay from the extra expense of the AFPR if i get a 255 so if the 190 would do that is ideal!

Pump gas? If so, 950 injectors should be more then enough, but I'm not sure the 190 can supply enough fuel to keep up. With that setup I would go with a 255 for sure. You don't want to run out of fuel.

ya im talking pump, i basically will be getting bigger injectors just to keep the idcs low and they are about the same price. I guess the basic questions was if the 190 can provide enough fuel to max out the 20g on pump. You said your not sure but i know someone has exact flow numbers and what it can provide and allow. Just trying to get a 100% answer as the AFPR will be an added cost on top of the fuel pump that i would rather not have to do if i dont need to.

I just put a td06 20g on my 2.4L. Currently running 560cc evo injectors, and evo9 fuel pump. At 12-13psi I hit about 76% IDC...if that means anything to anyone.

In third gear it will spool 12psi by about 3400rpm. My car has a 2.5 inch exhaust, stock o2 housing, resonator, and cat though. So that could definitely be improved.

On a side note, where are you guys feeding these oil from? Mine is setup directly off the OFH. My 14b survived like that for 60k miles. But I also have a banjo bolt/restrictor fitting I could use at the head location. Which one should I use?

Well with a .020 over bore doesnt that bring it to a 2.4 or am i mistaken?

I was thinking it be somewhere in that range. Damn i wanted to push 30 psi :coy:

still a 2.3. you're not gonna make up a tenth of a liter by boring .020. if you want a 2.4, just get a 2.4. i plan on doing a 2.3 in my talon. i think it would be awesome having more low end torque.

ok so i ordered 780s and a 255hp as well as a front mount. In about a month im gonna order the 20g for sure. Ive got a full 3 inch turbo back. When i get the new turbo im going to port the EFF out of my stock 2g manifold. 3400 spool is perfect in my opinion but it will likely go down to like 3200 with the ported manny and full 3 inch no restriction exhaust. Cant wait!

My engine should be running this week, so after the break in il get an update to everyone. Spool time, idcs on my 660s ect

I believe you would have to bore a 63 block .060 over to be 2.4 sized.

E85 is always worth it if you can run it, the stuff is bad ass.

I was running a td05h 20g in an unported evo III 16g turbine housing up until about 3 weeks ago. With 950's, walbro 255, and afpr with base fuel pressure at 48psi I barely had enough fuel. The 20g would hit 31psi at spool and drop to about 26 psi by redline. That was with delta hks 272 cams.

With my old setup on the stock motor, stock cams and a td06h 20g I could get it to boost 22-23 psi on 91 octane. Would rarely see knock unless I was beating on it back to back. Couldn't run shit for timing but that's 91 pump crap for you.

Well said.
The fuel is badddd aasss as long as you have the fuel system and tuning to support it. Keep the upper timing map under 21 and afrs at 12.0 with NGK bpr8 or 7 plugs gaped at .024

I'm trying to figure out why my TD06 is spoolin slow, but i'm flowing 36lbs/min at only 15psi and 6400rpm. I haven't made a log with airflow logged past that yet. I should have some more numbers by next weekend.

built 2.0, big cams, and big SMIM.

I'm going to venture a guess and say boost leaks(maybe), big cams, and a big plenum IM are the cause of my slow spool time.

I got 15psi yesterday at 4300rpm. This is with my boost controller backed out all the way and just running wastegate pressure. I am however moving a shit ton of air on such low boost.

7063 - RPM
15.4 - psi
38lbs/min of airflow.

I can't wait to turn up the boost this weekend. I'll post up my results. I'm expecting to run 20 to 23psi on pumpgas and ride the RPM up until I see that airflow is flatlining. That should be between 7500 ~ 8000 rpm.

Internal or external wastegate? have you tried running straight wastegate pressure?

what size engine again? 2.0?

Its a 2.3, i finally got it running last night, havent really got to drive it drive it, but so far the 2.3 has made a huuuuge difference, it started getting into boost without me even trying really, just wants to get up and go. After the break in il get more info on the 20g, i know this isnt a stroker thread haha

Nick sucks, JK! LOL :rocks:

James sucks :rocks: and that stupid 18g

Its a tial 40 off the o2housing. I have my boost controller backed out all of the way. I'm turning the boost up in a few days, so I'll see then how the wastegate reacts. I'm also sending my throttle body out for a rebuild so I'm sure that will help. Who knows how old the shaft seals are.

ya im thinking about getting this same turbo for my 2.4l. I like the spool on this and the potential for high 300 low 400 on pump gas.

Yea so far from what it seems the 20g is an amazing turbo on stroked motors, i was just babying it yesterday and i was building boost like nothing, and i also had a terrible boost leak. I wouldnt be suprised if i hit full boost at 3k rpms.

Try running straight wastegate pressure, your boost controller might be bad, i went through 2 in a month.

20g's are amazing turbos on 2.0's as well. It's a night and day difference once you get them up around 25psi.

Thanks. I just put in some 7's (plan on upping boost) this past sunday gapped at .022 and so far so good. I've been running the same set of bpr6's gapped at .022 for the past 4 months with e85. I just installed my 044 inline with the in tank 255 and ordered a 4 bar map sensor so it's time to do some more tuning.
