Yah your setup definately differs from HTX but you seem to know your stuff. I like the 8.5 compression and the hks 272. You mind me asking why not go with 280's though? also do you think the compression factor will effect HTX's setup or that can be done through tuning?

HKS 272/272 ARE PROVEN, AND ARE DOING WELL BY ME. I am also using my adjustable cam gears, by allowing more valve overlap. Sometimes the biggest thing out there is not the best thing out there. My setup was also built around the 20g, but I decided on the gt30. As it was the closest thing to what I wanted and it has a beautiful compressor map too. The .82 exhaust side is only because I plan to spray more then a 75 shot, other then that I would have went with the smaller .63 hotside. My next setup, God and Bank account willing will be back to a 35r with an 100 shot or more. That'll take me into the nines. 42r's are nice but the lag kills any type of fun factor with the car.

20g's are great turbos, but a gt30 is better. I havent sprayed this setup yet, so the 20g was still faster. I'm happy with the car thus far. I still say the best feeling i've ever felt other then a 10 sec. turbo Honda, 35r Evo @ 40psi ,and supra w/ greddy t-88? It was my 20g @ 28 psi with an hundred shot from a first gear roll to the end of forth gear. It just felt fast as shit, and I couldn't really breath other then when I had to shift. I was pined to the seat, and I was smiling the entire time. To give you a true idea, of what it felt like. It's better then sex, depending on what day you ask me. If I had to compare it with my friends 10 second cars it was close, if not faster then some of them. My car didn't need antilag or nlts, and if your 20g reaches full boost spools by 4000 rpm, your retarded. I had full boost (almost 30psi) in 3rd by 3500, with 272/272 and a ported head. What makes a 20g such a fun turbo is the fact that you have torgue down low, with power up top. Everything mod wise, is in my profile.

That's all good but I never said anythign about a 20g spooling so late. I said just what you said. . .

Yea, I know the feeling of what a fast car is. i've helped tune and then drove a LOW 10 sec grand national.

The first 3 pics is him joking w/ us, man.

Like I said the tdo5h 20g w/ a proper clip, a tdo6h 20g, and 50-trim w/ a t3 stage3 turbine in .63 a/r housing (ideal for the 50-trim) spool all about the same.

4K is fine for a street car, IMHO. DSMLink provides NLTS and anti-lag too:thumb:

My Fp Green was just over 4k, My 50 trim was 4500 rpm to 4800, and my 20g was 3500 rpm. So when you said they "spool all about the same", I thought bullshit. LOL, sorry buddy if you think I gave you the shaft. I didn't mean anything by it. I've tuned some cars myself, but never anything that fast to make low 10s. I have a friend with an 8 sec GN, you would probally know who i'm talking about if you seen his car. He'll drive that shit on the street too, he raced a stock turbo "pump gas" evo, 10 cars on 20 inch rims. He sat there on the stall and waited after the evo left. He still beat the low 12 second. GN's are nice cars, but i'll take a turbo fox-body over them anyday of the week. I now suddenly am re-thinking that whole 35r idea, LOL. 1.3 60's on radials work for me, when i'm not worried about breaking anthing. I have another friend with a t-76 in a notch, stock motor, 600rwhp on a mustang dyno. He's looking for 9's with the new powerglyde, I think he has to much gear personally, but well see. Both cars are Anderson tuned, I wish I could build a car like that.

Yea, since I now have a bootleg of PCMX and I can get a j3 adapter for $40 from a friend, I've been considering rebuilding my 60-1 and putting that in my 85.5 TC. Tough tranny, and tough rearend w/ a 8.8 swap. I'm considering the volvo dohc head swap too. I just got the cam specs of those heads and those cam profiles look like my FP2X cam profiles based on the duration and lift. Playing w/ the cam timing will give me plenty up top. And the springs for those heads have been proven for high rpm duty.

BTW, I reached well over 20 psi by 4500rpms running that very same 60-1 in my DSM. Much bigger compressor wheel than the 50 trim. Guys report 3500-3800 rpm spool w/ 50-trims all the time here.

Hell you could run 10:1 compression with 20psi and tune it out with no problem if your good.
And reguarding something else you said earilier about the 1g stock 7k redline, its actually a 7.5 redline as to were the revlimiter kicks in, and with cams and a turbo that can flow up in that area, id say youd be safe revving out to 8k on stock springs and etc which I have done several times... Hell even hit 8.5 by mistake once and no issues, and dsm-onster takes his to 8.5 regularly i believe on his manely springs.( Correct me if im wrong.)

20g seems like a good turbo with good reliability and compressor maps, id use one.
And Let see here... Faster car ive been in was my friend chris's 843whp 9 something second stroked single turbo 2jz Supra that eats trannys and clutches for dinner. 200 mph proven and layed down 400whp on just 12lbs of boost... Mightve seen it his car is green and says cryptonite on the wing ( fully cryotreated internals ) he's been in HIn few times. :rocks:

Could you ever consider a 8thousand rpm stroker LOL :sneaky:

I really like the 20g also. I have never owned one. But Considering MHI relaiability. I've been considering since my 60-1 is trash and I am wanting something a little more tame and fun now. It flows 650 cfm, or around 49 lbs/min at 70 degres F intake temps. Pretty close to a 50 trim, allowing the proper turbine. (and bolt on, too)

BTW, I run my FP2Xs (not FP2s) w/ manley singles. No problems w/ a higher than stock revlimit though FP claims duals are neccesary.

woah almost fainted thats sick wouldnt mind upgrading my turbo somtime and getting away from the big 16g

If you like the 20g, you'll love the 3076r or the 3071r. Witht those turbo you can run pump gas, instead or race gas so offen. Just an idea, it's your choice. My gt30 is a little bit bigger then those, LOL.

Think im going to go fp bb 3052 with .040 over 8:3.1 ross pistons, and 2.3 stroker on fp2x w/ adjustable cam gears degreed in 8k rev limit, custom keydiver chip tune, full spool before 3800rpms holding full boost hopefully till at least 7.5rpm, 21-24psi 93oct pump gas daily w/ meth inj if needed mid 11 second car trapping over 120...

Well might not work out that way but at least it sounds good in my head... LOL

That's nothing about the supra, LOL One of my friends has a 1200+whp Supra, on 26psi. I'll post a link so you can look at the car.
http://jxnunderground.dotnetpark.info/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=56681 He has a 3.4L stroker and revs it up too :thumb:
