I have been having an issue with my Eagle Talon. I have a 98 Eagle Talon with a gen 2 head and a 6 bolt block. I have been unable to get it to start. I did get it started on time for a few minutes and when I shut the car off I could not get it to turn over again. I thought I might have a problem with the timing so I took the belts off and timed the car once again. When I crank the car now it backfires while it cranks. I was reading and thought that it was because I did not have a knock sensor in the car. I got a gen 2 knock sensor and placed it in the car on the upper right hand side of the block above cylinder 2 under the manifold. I am not sure if I placed it in the right spot because I saw somewhere that it should be placed on the lower left hand side of the block under the manifold. It seems as though there is something behind the threads in the hole on the lower left hand side of the block. If someone has any ideas what my problem could be and if the knock sensor would cause these problems. Also if anyone can tell me for certain where the knock sensor should be placed. Thanks in advance.
