Indeed. I didnt even resurface the flywheel, it still looked nice and evenly used across the surface without any blue spots so i just reused it. Its releasing and grabbing just fine. Ive got a Competition forged flywheel for when I get my Southbend back and ill put it all in when this one dies

You guys can do what you want, your ride, but I prefer to follow break-in procedures. I've installed a stage IV CC and street disc before and didn't break it in, guess what I was doing that night? Dropping my transmission again because it burnt up...

For organic street discs, we recommend breaking in the clutch for 200-300 miles with mild engagement such as stop-and-go city driving prior to racing or spirited driving. ACT race discs usually only require a few hard slips to lap in the surfaces prior to normal driving or racing. Do not overheat the clutch during the break in period.

So, if you've got a street disc in there I'd recommend a bit longer break-in period.

True that. Ive always babied street disks for 500 miles. Did the same for my southbend. This xtd is six puck ceramic, and its also super cheap so im just going to beat on it for a couple weeks until my good clutch comes back.

The puck clutches are different. I've thrown them in and hit 30 psi less than a mile later. The organic compound, and the no better Kevlar disks need to be bed in, and still will glaze really easily if slipped, especially the Kevlar.

I played with the antilag before I went for the last run that killed the clutch. -5 and 0 timing at 6K RPM generated 20 psi, which I think is too much for a launch on my set up, so I think I ended up at +7* timing to get 15 psi, which is what I used to launch on with my td05h 18g, and I could easily hit 1.6- 1.7 second 60' on my street tires. When it was bogging on me, I wasnt using antilag, and was only getting 8- 9 psi even at 6K RPM and my 60's were horrible, I think the best I got was 2.1X haha. When I get the clutch fixed and broken in, Im going to try 5.5K RPM launches if I can find somewhere safe to do so and get used to the new setup before I go back to the track

I made 7-8 passes Friday night. One thing I noticed from my logs is that, while I thought I had my foot to the floor at the light on the two step the log says otherwise. Looks like when I hear the 2step engage my foot is lifting off the pedal so I'm not leaving the line at WOT. We noticed that right before the last pass so I made sure to try to mash the gas through the floor board the whole time. Holy shit did that make a difference. 8.0 pass 0-33mph (1st gear shifted at 6500) took 1.446 sec while the last pass when I was definitely WOT on the 2step 0-47mph (shifted at 7k) was .986sec. What a huge difference it makes actually having the pedal to the floor at launch and not just thinking I had it to the floor. The car broke up in 2nd gear on that last pass. I have a feeling it was going to be very fast. ended up being 8.2 but when it broke up in 2nd gear at 47mph it actually slowed down and took 2 full seconds just to get back to 47mph. Check out your logs. Make sure your TPS is 100% on the two step while you're at the lights. Like Gofer said, I had a little bit of slip on the launch but that was definitely one of the best 60's I've cut in that car and that was with 2step only and at 5750RPMs. The 8.0 was at 24psi so roughly around 450-460HP. Crazy because my best time is 7.99 and that was at 31psi and around 600HP . It's all about that 60' in an 1/8mi.

On Q16 and 30psi on my 2.3L bottom with stock head and 272 cams red hta, I should be around 450HP...With an external gate and 32psi I think it will make 5, I'm flowing around 3100Hz on the maf and maxing all the values on v3 Lite.

Cool vid, man! Just an update on the XTD stage 4: I gave it ONE NLTS shift from 1st to second, and it slipped instantly and now slips at anything ove 5500 RPM. Hopefully, Ill get my Southbend back soon, and if it doesnt hold, Im sure I can sell my transmission, t case and a 4 bolt rebuilt rear setup for enough money to get an auto setup.
Quick edit: I let it sit idling for about ten minutes to cool, and it quit slipping. Definitely wont take it to the track though haha

Indeed. My sb is getting ceramic on both sides though so i think that coupled with the 2700 lb pressure plate should give me so holding power. Im not expecting a lot out of the xtd really, it is supposedly a stock pressure plate after all, but people going way faster than me are getting much more out of it.

Went to the track this weekend.. Best was 11.48@124 best mph was 127. This was at 30 psi, 11.5 afr up top and 16 degrees of timing out the top on C16. Vehicle weight is just under 2700Ibs.

I did the exact same thing. My south bend is thinner than a dime on one side, and it would shift fine on the streets. On the strip, launched great, but second and third I was peddling the gas cause it was slipping horribly.
Now that the auto is in, time to hit the track again.
I feel your pain.

Don't take this the wrong way but something is off or wrong on your set up. I would expect the 135-140mph range especially with that lightweight car. I'm running faster than your red on a little 71hta with a full weight car.

As for breaking in a clutch, 200 miles with no boost and than launching it is not breaking it in. I have broken in all my street disks within 25-50 miles using a progressive break in. My act 2600 with a street disk is holding enough power for high 120smph in a full weight 1g

Glad to hear it. Mike is one of the coolest dudes I know. He's made tons of improvements to 1813 since he picked it up from me. I just wish the posted and shared the car more.
