Junk Electric Supercharger or Turbo [Merged 1-7] intake fan gimmick

Anyone used this? They claim 5-15 HP gains...even on an already compressed intake system. 1-3 pounds of boost from an electric fan for $300. Let's hear it, anyone got one, anyone got pics? Howabout dyno test scores? The ones on the web site look good...but they ARE selling it.

It doesn't help anyone. It was tested on RDTiburon.com by a member there and they found that the vacuum of the engine draws more air than the fan in that stupid little computer fan can even put out. It was a restriction in the intake and actually caused a decrease in power.

i wouldnt waste your money on something like that even if you have an n/a car

however it may be worth it to buy and just use the filter.. and play around shooting things out of the fan housing with a spare battery

These types of products have very few recommendations, but many warnings (wasting your money).

These products have multiple bad reviews, and using Google with "Turbonator review" illustrates this conclusion (a different product with similar claims).

There for, not worth it. Buying things off ebay are a hit and miss. It's advised to stay away on this site but you can make things work. Many people use exhaust from eBay and few others.

Ha ha, I looked at the link, and it appears they put the filter on the outlet side. That must be to keep the chunks from flying out.

My friend put one of those on his 1.6 Geo Tracker and it was hilarious to watch him flip the switch and think that it actually did anything. Regardless, this kidd put a propane tank in it and ran a tube to one of his vacuum lines thinking it was like NOS.

A long time ago we hooked a leaf blower up to a buddies civic, it actually made about a pound of boost and ran like a raped ape with the blower at full throttle.. By no means was it fast but it was pretty amusing to say the least.
