Victory!! Full points for Race 2. This time was much more desirable. Given the grip shenanigans in Race 1, the decision was to use the sticker tires, adjust the suspension, and take every advantage we had in the setup for Race 2. The Cayman didn’t have early pace and John was able to pull a 2 second gap per lap. The race went full 30 min without incident. John managed the pace, with a 15 second gap mid race, and as the time wound down, he held the gap to 8 seconds in the end.

The bin to go back on - when the bumper is finished.

The hoses are new.

A word about Evil Energy hose ends from Amazon:
The swivels started leaking. I thought it was a leak from the cooler, but it turns out the cooler is fine. I jumped the gun, thinking the leak was because the cooler got beat up, and I purchased a brand new one. ( oh well - a spare is handy ) In an effort to try to fix the leak permanently, I bought Vibrant hose ends from Summit Racing. We’re gonna find out if the Canadiens can make better hose ends than Taizhou Yibai Auto Parts Co. in China.

I've learned my lesson with Evil Energy fittings a few years back. Over half of what I installed leaked within a month of installing. Changed them all out.

Try to get the word out! Evil Energy - sucks
Just for curiosity, can you tell if it is the o-ring in the swivel that is leaking, or is it the tapered cones not matching well enough and causing it to leak?
I mean this is just for info, I wouldn't be trying to fix them. Replacing with Vibrant is what I would do too.

I think the 0-ring, or whatever is supposed to seal the swivel is the source. Compring the two brands, Evil swivels feel looser. Initial install and under pressure - it looks ok. The issues start after some use - and when the hose is vibrating when the engine is running.

Getting closer!

Stack let me know that my gauge cluster repair was delayed because they had not worked on one as old as mine in a long time, so they needed to find the firmware. LOL, yeah no doubt. It is shipping out today.

Rich has my fog lights in progress

Next thing to do is find a vinyl shop with a silver that matches the side skirts, and start ducting the intercooler.

In the category of “while we wait” - side quest: If I want to fix the camera angle, I have to remove the license plate bracket.

I have to remove the bumper cover

That little aluminum bracket with the holes is the one I need.
I bust loose the 3M body tape holding it in place, and squeeze the L bracket in the jaws of a vice to give more down angle.

Then re assemble the car.
