That was an epic weekend... 10hr drive, GT4 Race wins #8 and #9, Two sessions of Eclipse track time, and 9hr drive home without incident. The Alternator lives!

Lots of video and data to sift through - first - let's look at the tune. I saw the whole time really rich numbers on the WB on track so I didn't fuss with it. It was wrong in the right direction for longevity.

Above, is a pull from the first sessions - before heat soak. This goes right over the VE peak (1.000) at 15lb of boost. I ran the whole trip with the boost turned down - and this shows me exactly how far off the global fuel has drifted - likely due to the various E-85 sources in the tank.

So, you are saying that your WBFactor was way off here (about -13%).
Hmm yeah, google overview says e85 ethanol percentages are all over the place in Nevada, can be 65-70%. That would be like "winter mix" e85 in colder states. And that would make your actual AFR richer than AFRatioEst.

Fascinating - "Bad" E-85 has more moisture and that burns richer... - and colder. It's like a water injection for knock control without extra pumps and sprayers

I think it is time to invest in a test kit.

Do you think you got wet E85? I wasn't really thinking about that.
I was just thinking about how your car would be running richer if you are running, say, E70 in a car tuned for e85.
But I tried that out on the calculator, and I don't think E70 would throw your WBfactor off by 13%.
I think it would only give you about 6.5% too much fuel.
What that would change your AFR to, not sure I'm doing this right, but I think that would change your AFR to 10.8 (not 9.9)(talking gasoline equivalent AFRs here of course).
Stumbling along by the same method, I figure E51 would do it. I think E51 would change your AFR to 9.9.
I'm basing all of that on the idea "Fuel increase at E100 = 63%" like in our ethanol sensor setup.
Well I doubt that your E got all the way down to 51%.

Because water has a dielectric constant that is a lot higher than either gasoline or ethanol, a small amount of water (I think it's about 4%) will throw an error in a flex-fuel car, and the supposed limit for water in E85 is 1%. Water makes the flex-fuel sensor read a lot higher, like trying to fool the ecu, and when the reading goes over some point, the flex-fuel car will just assume there's too much water and it throws some kind of error.

All the E85 I've run through my ethanol sensor, I've never had an ethanol % reading in a log that seemed off at all, and I would if there was ever much water in it, because FlexEthMix would read way high.

Maybe you should put a flex-fuel sensor in it, even if it is just for logging.

Still catching back up after the last race weekend.

Shipped one side of suspension to John to replicate setup for @Detail
Shipped the 52mm Stack boost and clock to AutoMeter to swap in blue LED backlights
Received a replacement driver side headlight from Amazon to fix the broken adjuster - installed
Received more silver vinyl to cover the curb scrapes

To Do:
Remove timing covers and re-torque/loctite loose things under the covers
Clean up pad residue on rotors
re-cover front bumper
Paint fog light bezels
locate a front tow loop and fabricate an installation
re-install suspension
Reset E-85 global fuel

Could be seasonal blends, or just a different ethanol % from a different station. In Michigan it's only e"85" in the few summer months. Spring/fall is e78, winter is e70. They will still call it e85 year round though.

I would have to change global fuel about 5% on the 85 to 78 change. No noticeable change otherwise with the car. For a 13% change, I suspect you came across some e70.

A learning moment from first session - F-ing turn 11. again.

Travel from Right to Left - The point of divergence is on the crest of a hill - the turn in is blind. At least I didn't end up behind the cones when I fell off this time.

Awesome video. I may have asked before but which camera do you use? I've been thinking about picking one up for summer driving. I really like the DJI stuff, maybe the action 4 to save a few bucks.
This was captured with a GoPro 4 - still my favorite, and has not overheated on me the way the GoPro 9 and GoPro 10 have.

Eventually I’ll end up on the newer higher resolution cameras - which i’m told deal with exposure better.

Love what you did with the front bumper 🤘🏼
Thank you - been curious to see it like this for a while - Thankful to find remade parts from china in stock for really no money compared to OEM parts that can't be found.

The vinyl just makes sense for upkeep, as well as staying true to the original trim package colors. Pretty happy with it. LED bulbs make a big difference.
