Gotta check that LOL
44% bigger. (across)
Anyway, red on black is always a good color combo and that size that you have for it now is what it should have always been.
Thanks for measuring!
Heh - this will bend your noodle.
65 to 45 is a 30% decrease in size.
45 to 65 is a 44 % increase in size

The red with white edge star is the only star for a DSM - and it does look good on black!

Right, and I think a lot of people don't watch out for that.
I sat next to a guy at work for a while who once said to me "I don't trust percent". I never knew what the heck he meant by that. But he was probably referring to the same thing you are referring to.
If you ever worked as a manager in a retail business, you would be working with markups from your cost to the retail price, and with discounts from the retail price to the sale price, and you would notice it. Engineers and scientists notice it. Probably a lot of other folks don't!
But I'm glad I had to check because in doing so, I used my trusty HP 11C calculator which is sitting on the table right next to me here like it has been for the last ?? years. How long? Since the mid 80's I think. So I checked - when were those things sold new. 1981 to 1989 according to google search. Ok, I think I bought it in 1985. That's 41 years that it's been either on my desk or on the next table over. It's an awesome piece of equipment.
Thanks for the reverie 🙂

Yeah! I have a dash again! - but I’m annoyed. They didn’t do what I asked.

bolt that back on

Squeeze the assembly back in the dash, working around the edges to try and plug everything back in before bolting it down

The LED were supposed to have been swapped out for white ones. It looks exactly the same as it did when I sent it to them except for the fixed needle - which is fluorescing. hmm , thats new.

i’ve complained, we’ll see what they say.

I wonder if the fog bezel would look better as grey/silver, or finish them with trim black/satin… hmmm

Had to look up in my STACK notes for the Vehicle Speed and Fuel Level sensor calibration data - ran the procedure to plug the values in and then - ya know, a test drive.

I got into 3rd WOT on a hill in the on-ramp and it dragged out the whole bottom end. I've not had data in this area of the map - I think I'll use it.

Had to wait for the wind to die down in the early evening.

This time, I’m going to try and let the material lay, and from a large space, stretch into some smaller areas. Its easier to stretch than shrink

Getting the thread started cutting in the knife-less tape takes a bit of dynamic effort to get it going. This time I started it, before laying the silver down, thinking if i broke the thread trying to start it, and had to re-tape it, i wouldn't have to scrap the vinyl due to a failed cut start

I am this many years old - and just now learned you use a long Phillips screwdriver to spin the headlight adjustment wheel

The levels on these Taiwan Eagle Eye headlights are bogus- I leveled the car, then pointed the lights, then bent the levels until they were reading level. LOL Calibration complete!

Ding - your adventure log has been updated.
Side Quest - Aim your new headlights - Completed!

Back at the track, this time I drove the DSM 550 miles to Nevada today.

To prepare, I did a little extra and checked gearbox fluid level (was overfull) and always top off the transfer case (took two pumps)

Rear diff was dry and dusty, no indications of fluid leaks so I didn’t touch it.

I did mess with the backup switch, trying to seal a leak, and you saw how that went! There is a risk of over-preparing, and introducing a problem where one did not exist. I think I found the edge of it.

Killed a bunch of bugs. Everything working.

GT4 Race Weekend update:
Team Muellerized - Team Zissou - Very similar vibe. "We're a pack a strays - don't you get it?"

Qualified P2 - We executed perfectly, but the other dude sent a hail mary you can only do once on sticker tires, and we watched P1 slip away 0.4th!
Race 1 - Game on - Brilliant drive, John's race pace was same as qualifying - Made the pass stick on an inside move running down into a hairpin, and the field could not keep the lead, or catch. - but two red flags. First one Miata stuck in gravel, John had to rebuild the gap again due to the restart - and it was hard when the car that ultimately caused the second red flag was also a different class with a bunch of HP having issues became a moving roadblock that killed the gap again. With a gutsy turn one overtake he gets by with little time left after the restart. White flag - and it looks like a finish with a new two second gap but then no checker. The last lap had me so confused. Turns out it was a last lap red flag, and we win.

Finished P1 Winner! Also - fastest lap of the race.

Race 2
Qualify P1
Had a little hiccup - No lap times were showing in speed-hive, Thinking maybe I had unplugged the beacon, I called John in and checked the wiring at the pit wall which was all good. It messed up the warmup sequence a bit, but and next lap out the times started posting. John still pulled off the fastest lap for P1 in class, P2 overall for a front row start.

Race - Finished P1 in class! Win #9 It went like you want a race to go - leading from start to finish. No red flags, one short yellow somewhere behind us to no effect. We are so so close to the championship win, leading by a lot more now!

Cleaned up the bugs and dust - getting ready to put the eclipse on track tomorrow.
