I was missing the driver side cv axle on my 1997 eclipse gsx and I bought a new one but didn’t realize I was also missing the intermediate shaft or whatever it’s called. Is this the part I need?

I have an auto and unfortunately that shaft is for a manual so I’ll have to keep looking. The engine had ac, previous owner removed the condenser from it. No clue if I have the bracket for it either. I appreciate your reply

Yes 2 for the 2 shoulder bolts. I’m not sure if you stated or not but if you’re running ac or even the ac bracket you would not need these.

If your not using the ac bracket then you would need these.

FWIW here is a link of said ac bracket that spaces that half shaft without spacers.

I am not running ac and don’t know if I have the bracket. Previous owner removed ac and chopped the metal lines so I have no interest in reinstalling it currently. Spacers are only like $12 for the 2 so I’ll just grab those. I appreciate the response

Just looked at the listing. Definitely don’t have that bracket

First you should make sure what year your block is. Keep in mind that the A/C bracket in the eBay link above may not fit. IIRC the A/C compressor bracket and the intermediate shaft bracket are different between 2GA and 2GB. And also you should use the factory intermediate shaft bracket mounting bolts. They are pilot point bolts.

I believe I have a 95/96 engine. ECU and interior wiring is 95/96 based off MFI relay. It’s a gold block. Also ECU part number comes back as I believe it was 95 Japan ECU. Engine was shipped from Japan so I can only assume it’s a 95 engine. Previous owner swapped the engine in after he blew up the twin turbo’d 6a12tt.

Unless that doesn’t mean anything, I don’t know. It’s my first DSM. I bought it as a project and it’s been an absolute pain. I’m no stranger to a project but was supposed to be a “runs but doesn’t drive” type of project. It’s been a no run, no crank, no electrical power, no drive type of project. I’ve got a lot of it sorted out and now have just a few pieces left to go.

I really appreciate the responses. You guys have been very helpful.

If the complete engine came from Japan and if you see a sensor behind intake cam gear, then yes most likely the block is also 95-96 2GA. In Japan it's totally not common to mix up different year's parts, so.
I just noticed in the original post pic, it seems you are also missing one of transmission mounting bolt and transfer case mounting bolt. Those are important, too.

As @DSMPT said, be careful what you buy. Those listings on Ebay saying 95-99 are incorrect as the bracket changes in cars/engines 1997 and up. The axles themselves are the same (except for auto vs. manual) 95-99, but the bracket itself will mount differently, based on the engine/A/C bracket used.
