Intermediate Shaft question..

Sorry about all the questions..

But for my 96 GSX, I'm swapping the motor from a 95 TSI into it.

Well i broke the intermediate shaft at the boot.. connecting to the half shaft..?

correct me if I'm wrong but i don't know the terminology for these shafts..

What should i do about this ^^??
Can it be reused with another boot? or do i need a new half shaft? or new intermediate shaft ? or both?? HELP! hahah


ALSO where can i find the intermediate shaft.. Dealer wants 1000$..

You can pry that cup off the intermediate shaft. Then put a new boot on it as long as no dirt got in there. If its got dirt in there your going to want to disassemble it and clean it, reassemble and put on a new boot. Pack with some synthetic grease.

Just ask em for a CV Shaft Boot Kit for a what ever year car your working on, then which ever side your working on (passenger/driver) and then he should ask for inner or outer, you want the inner.

1000 dollars are you fudging kidding me f all that noise here is a used one in well the owner says excellent condition but never the less not a grand oh btw it is known as a intermediate shaft or just a awd drive shaft.

even funnier cv shafts are cheaper and easier to get i figured from the half picture, you were needing the drive-shaft but yeah no sense in rebuilding the old cv shaft when they are only $60, cheaper if you order off ebay
