Intermediate shaft question (axle)

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

You dont have one? - as in you dont think you have one, or your car seems to be missing one, or is it broke, and you need one? I would suggest your local DSM forum, look under the section of these forums for your demographic, or check the classifieds on this forum. They might be able to help you out. If you want to buy new, I suggest NAPA.

In the AM try M&S recycleing (916) 635 4700 they specilize in mitsubishi parts.

Good luck.

We call what you need a half shaft.

It is the Intermediate Shaft. That is the correct terminology for it :thumb: ;)

Intermediate - 1. One that is in a middle position or state.

You can see a better picture here 4th from the top. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/CVboots.html

Which explains its name being it is between the tranny and the half shaft.

The half-shaft connects to the end of the IS and then connects to the hub.

Here is even a better link AWD Equal Length Half Shaft How To

But forgive me if I am wrong when you order the halfshaft assembly from the parts store (talking AWD) you will get the Intr. and the outer shaft as a assembly. Bolt in ready to play.
