Ive been trying to find the bolt sizes for the 2 bolts that bolt the intermediate shaft bearing to the back of the block, Ive tried using CAPS but i just cant find em...and ive searched :( I had one of these snap in the block and i DO NOT want to have that happen again so I want to be sure they are correct...
Also what the hell is the correct term for that damn shaft? I cant find it at all in CAPS...
Thanks
If it matters the car is a 95 GSX 5spd

Those 2 bolts in the back use a 14mm head and I believe the threaded part is a 12mm with 1.25thread pitch.

That shaft is called the intermediate shaft just like you stated in the title.

Ok, thanks...
ill see what I can find...
Anyone know the part # on them??
Or what to search for in caps to find the intermediate shaft? all i get is the one in the tranny...

From what i believe they are 10* 1.25 i believe make sure you use #8 bolts. Dont use them from a hardwatre store otherwise.

yea their m10 1.25, i think you can get away with grade 8 i beleive thats whats in mine right now.

Having some trouble finding that size in that thread pitch...wish i had a part number so i could get it from mitsu...
anyone know of any places that have those size bolts in grade 8 or better?

I wouldnt get anything but OEM on these bolts. I have broken grade 8 bolts in there before. The OEM bolts have a special nosing on the end which you wont find on any other bolt. Just go to the dealer and explain what you are looking for, its easy.

they deffinately have them at the dealership, I just bought two a couple of months ago, sorry threw the bags away. When I was checking bolts, the ones from the dealer were the same price or cheaper than the hardware stores.

the bolt on the ac brackrt side is 1 1/2 inces long and the one to the right (if you are looking at the back of the block) is like an inch. find a random 12 mil bolt in your engine bay and that will be the type you need i think the m10 ^^^^^^ is the correct one. :thumb:

for future reference a dsm bucket of bolts is a great addition to any dsm'ers tool collection. i have three!!!:sneaky:

Thank you guys. That was the part number I needed. They are also good for the 1g's. Mitsu said they would have them in by Wednesday.

Def, thanks for adding the Resolved to the thread. That should really help others if they run into the same problem. :thumb:
