If anyone out there has tried this; How hard is it to fit an EVO V Intercoler, and how much of a difference did it make?

What are the dimesions of it? And lets see a pic of an actual intercooler off of the car.

I tried the EVO VI on my car and it fits perfectly..Will put it on for good in the winter hopefully. We tried it loose on the car and it seemed like it would be no problem att all to get it there.Dunno if there is any difference between the V and VI IC though....

I heard that the EVO FMIC (or any mitsu core) is not too efficient. If you can get it for cheap then by all means go get one.

Well the EVO VI IC I am getting is not the stock EVO but it has the same size so I know it will fit.The one I looked at is a upgrade for the EVO VI built by a proffessional tune up company here in Sweden specialised in Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi EVO:s..They make VERY good ICs for sure :)

hey guys,

I was just wondering, when these start to become available, would it be possible to use on our cars? What's the flow rate on them?

Thanks

i'm sure the specs are pretty good. you will want to keep an eye on ebay for when they start shwoing up in the next few months. if you plan on getting one from the dealer you might as well buy the car becasue it will cost a small fortune for one.

well just for the hell of it I called up SATAN to see how much the price is for the EVO FMIC. I was very shocked when he told me it was only $700 and some change (YMMV)! I then asked him what the dimensions were but he told me his computer wouldn't spec it out.

Thoughts?

Why not get a core from an aftermarket source with piping for YOUR car for a little more cash?

yeah thats true but to be honest I was expecting the dealer to quote me something outlandish like a $1000 bucks or so. still to buy the OEM FMIC core for that amount is a good price. I'm just curious on what the specs are and how it compares as far as flow rate is concerned to the other FMIC's out there right now.

Man, u should get some1 to work at the Mitsu. dealer. I hae a friend that works there, and he gets me parts at cost. He quoted me $400 , and that was his cost. But still, i would fork out some extra cash to have the whole kit that is made for your car, then ya dont have to work about all the pipe routing, cuz some1 has done it for ya. But to each there own.

I have a sneaky suspicion that the FMIC's from both the EVO and SRT-4's are the same.

Btw, got some more info the EVO FMIC. the general dimension is 25 x 11.

Iam thinking in getting a evo fmic for my ride have anybody try this already, will it fit easyli or there is a lot of cutting and relocating involved
do you people now a respectable shop that makes custom IC pipes for it at a good price?

its no different then any aftermarket intercooler, its going to require custom piping and mounting, so you might as well buy one thats already made for your car from a dsm vendor

I dont see the complication besides welding a few brackets on, some cutting of your stock bumper, and some custom IC pipes. Good luck, let us know how it goes and supply some pics when done....

evo front mount is the same thing as a starion front mount, CRAP.
