ok so the #### that owned my car before has a hks on it, it could be a fake one idk...anyways he has it vented to atmosphere. a eclipse will run poor. and mess the motor up.

this is what im asking. how to recirculate a hks or fake one. i know they sell the 55 dollar kit but i didnt know if there was another way of doing it. also how do i vent it too atmosphere the RIGHT WAY! ??

If you want to vent to atmosphere you have to purchase a GM MAF with converter. Just keep in mind if you are running a small to mid size turbo it will loose some of its power. Personally I prefer recirculating but its all about personal prefrence.

blow through setup... GM MAF with MAFT or dsmlink to run the gm maf..
OR Speed Desity!!

but its not really proven to mess up the motor! (venting to atomsphere)
it has caused some cars to run poorly and some not to!
i ran venting to atomsphere (not purposely) and i didn't have any issues!

As for the hks.. there is a tip that screw or something on the end of the hks bov that will allow you to attach a recirulation tube on to it!

and venting wont cause any lose in power... it helps the turbo keep spinning during the shift, which really doesn't seem to hurt or matter with a small fast spooling turbo like the 14b or the 16g!
Now on something bigger it will help spool those laggy beast inbetween shifts, but how much does it REALLY help?? Not really sure!!

There are Allen key screw around the outer casing. Take those off and the case will be free. There will be a plastic circle thing in there that has three fins, remove that from the casing and put the reciculation fitting where that used to be so you can connect a hose to it. Put the casing back on, do the screws back up and there you go! Hope that helps

you would have to get that recirulating tip to put on the end of the bov and the recirulating tube!
Does your intake pipe have a spot for the other end of the recirulating tube to on?
(intake pipe= hard pipe in front of the turbo)

if you want to recirculate go to HKSusa.com or ebaymotors.com and find yourself a recirculating insert or rig up one yourself. I purchased a 3" GM MAF, and translator to vent my HKS BOV. like others have said before me, i have always been a fan of recirculating but i got my gm set up. check out my pics. i have a recircualating insert for sale if you need one, let me know!

ok so if i recirculate how do i go about doing that??

i wish there was a store to just buy the kit from. i hate ordering stuff off line. LOL. i checked jegs, summit racing and some tuner shops around my area but found nothing....ok so how do i hook up a gm maf and maft and is that all i need too vent?

Bonehead performance, maperformance and STM all carry the recirculation kit and or just the fitting. Just gotta look. I'd go that route if you still have stock intercooler piping, which you never mentioned so. And to get the recirculation kit is a hell of alot cheaper than going gm maft with translator. Also if you don't know how to recirculate your not going to be able to figure out how to tune the translator properly

Also if you don't know how to recirculate your not going to be able to figure out how to tune the translator properly

haha aaaaggreeed!!!

I just told him how to do it twice and he still asks!!

and Yes it would be ALOT cheaper to just recirulate it as you already have aftermarket intercooler piping!... WELL acutally you could sell you old setup and buy a new one that would be capable of having the gm maf...!!
Still cost you a pretty penny!!

lets write it out realy quick:

sell you old setup, intercooler piping and core: say i don't know $200 (depending on shape and age, and your greed)
Ok now you have $200 extra to spend

New Front Mount kit with piping setup for the gm maft from VRSF is $320 shipped i think now!!
Plus $50 for a j pipe if you need one!

you can obtain a used GM MAF from ebay or here, usually around $35

And buy a NEW Transislator for $200 (thats NEW tho)
You can find them cheap on here or ebay!
AND Even find alot of people selling the GM MAF with the Trasislator for alittle less then $200 Shipped!

So all and all you would be spending about $350 out of your pocket (if you get the used MAFT) and end up with a GOOD NEW FMIC and a Blow Through Setup!

OR

Just spend $55 and get the recirulation kit!!!
YOUR CALL Homie!!!
