Sorry to disappoint you guys but wont be giving you live results on my boost/ rpm spool times. My poor stock 7 bolt with over 100k miles decided she wanted no more on Sunday afternoon while casually speeding up 3 blocks from my house. 20-25psi and about 3500rpm car had a wierd stutter in the tune after swapping fuel pumps and rod #3 decided she wanted no more abuse and had partied too hard at 35psi on this old wore out motor... time for the built motor in the garage to go in it now and go FULL SEND with no worries :)

At least a $400 junkyard motor can still run 11's!!! :thumb:
Sorry about the luck son, the other motor should be a kick in the pants!

Thats a bummer but it'll be cool to see how it does with a built motor. How long were you running that setup on that motor?

I'm sure Matt will get on here and line Dad out but he made his 11.5 pass in November, I believe, and had the motor in the car about 2 or 3 months IIRC.
@black97spyder, clear this up for the guys when you get a chance. :)

Ya know, it is a bummer but he told me the car CONTINUED to run, with a fist size hole in the block at #3, and let him pull into a local store and HE SHUT IT OFF. That, to me, was amazing. No oil pressure, slinging a dead journal around with a fist size hole in the block and STILL RUNNING....WOW.
He said that he did try to restart it to drive it on home but "it resisted" so he towed it home. OMG

A little late to the party but I thought I’d add my experience as a 95 gsx running an hx35 in the .55 bolt on housing....it’s a fun turbo, best I have been able to run was 12.088 at 117mph though I have trapped over 120. This is with a consistently crappy 2/3 shift because my transmission hates me. Also I tuned the car myself which is holding it back A LOT I’d guess LOL. I’m confident that with an actual tune and better trans I’d be in the mid 11’s easy. My mods are current if you need other details.

Yeah the reason I was curious was because my motors got 97k on it too. 170 psi across the board though but it'll be interesting to see how it holds up. Can't get E85 here either so that's a pretty big disadvantage, hopefully it lasts the season LOL.

To maybe ease your mind, Matt said that the broken rod pieces that he went back and recovered, looked as tho the crack that he saw was old and dull not new and shiny so he was probably running a hurt motor to start with. I think you will be happy and on gas, it won't stress it quite as much as on E.

I have been running that stock setup since September if i recall correctly. She held LOTS of street pulls (50+ without a doubt) but im fairly sure the motor gave up when it had its wierd random hiccup/sputtering in the tune at the 20-25psi and put alot of stress on the internals. I believe if it hadnt been for the sputtering while speeding up that the motor would still be living today. She held up to ALOT of abuse from me on a daily basis... but oh well, got a built 7 bolt 2.0 in the garage that is turn key and ready to go in it. Just have to find the time and good weather to swap it into the car.

Youll find the time just do it step by step a little at a time, and she'll be back in the 2g before you know it.

Well that's good to know, that thing is going to fly with a healthy motor, toss some cams in there while you're at it. Should be able to pull off some impressive times.

The car will have some bc280/280's, dual springs, brand new valves, guides and seals and of course more boost and evo 3 intake with 1g throttle body. So she should easily be in the 10's with my drag radials on. Only time will tell though!

Yeah you can kind of see it between the runners. I have a picture that was sent to me before it was shipped out.

Pictures don't do it justice though, everything looks even better in person.

A few pictures showing the fitment with a Mishimoto X-Line and the recirculated wastegate option on the Morrison TS T3. It does clear thicker radiators but a fan can't be mounted driver side.

Wow, looks awesome. I'm going to go with a slim fan on the driver's side. That's the main reason I'm sticking with the stock radiator. From what I can tell I should have just enough room to pull it off but hopefully the manifold doesn't melt the fan LOL.

looks killer, that is the exact setup I was referring to.

I have the "race line" fans now and hope I can trim one up a bit to fit the pass side after seeing this. Looks like driver will have to be a pusher, unfortunately. Small price to pay though......

it may go down sooner because of these picks. Cant take it anymore. Thanks for sharing!

    @llxkevinxll

Do you plan to cover the 12"-14" hole in the fan shroud where the driver fan used to be, or leave it open? Not sure what would be best, even with a fan pushing through from the other side.

The spot will be left open. While driving it should allow air to continue to pass through and it shouldn't affect the draw of the passenger main fan any more than another fan being installed there would. I also have mounted a secondary Spal 12" pusher to replace the puller I had there previously. Still running off the factory Ac fan connector.
