I couldnt find the right post so im asking how do I time my car?! I had to pull my head off cause my timing belt popped and bent the valves now im putting it back together. I no how to time a boat motor but not a car i have a 420a 2g how do I time it the easiest way LOL?!

first make sure all marks are aligned, get a timing light, then ground it, have the light flashing at the markings for tdc and such, adjust the cas till it hits tdc or depending on the degress you want it to be at

What don't you know about the cam sprockets? Are they aftermarket gears or something?

If they're the originals, they should each have a mark etched into the edge near the teeth, it's often highlighted in white (I highlighted it in red for the picture).

EDIT: :ohdamn: didn't realize you had a 420A motor. Regardless, the cams will line up in a similar manner.

In the future, I would recommend you post your questions here to avoid confusion: 420A DSM Tech - DSM Forums
