1G How to be sure my car automatic or manual?

I bought 1990 eagle talon a couple days ago but i have problem on transmission because of 5th gear I can not engage it to 5th position...How do I know if my vehicle was originally automatic or manual.i can give VIN code and i saw a sticker on hood i shared it..Maybe my car is converted automatic tranny to manual how to be sure about that? by the way i saw eco sport mode front of gear..normally my car is manual gear

Share your vin and it can tell us or you can check it yourself http://www.vfaq.com/mods/VINs.html if your having issues with 5th then its likely your syncro or the gesr has worn out, its not unlikely a trans conversion but in europe its not done hugely because of cost so i want to say it was stock with a manual.

i checked it before from this website but i could not find it here is the my VIN

So i got from that its an AWD but it does say 5M OD, so not sure what that means, whether it means 5 speed manual or OD for auto i dont know, i checked autozone and that does specify it as a manual so i would take it that it was a manual, i dont have any other way to check apart from basic free reports which give basic i fo and not all list transmission

thank you as you wrote that kind of modification needs a lot cost so how to sure without VIN code? Do you want me to look around in car?

I paid $100 USD to look it up.............
NAH, just teasing, it is a free site. I tried a few other free sites also but this one told me what the OP needed. Just sharing the info, the link should take him right to that VIN.

A few of the free ones gave some details not all and one told me 5M and OD so not sure what that ment, but autozone had a parts checker and i used that and it only listed manual parts so i took that as its a manual vin, so it is right and works as confirmed by yourself

Yes. For what it's worth, I have NEVER seen a 1990 with an auto trans even though the FSM does have one in it.

thanks for response i bought this car 2 days ago that s why i am still searching on it actually i am not new to this car i used to drive elantra 1991 it s smiliar but i didn t have turbo i will share a picture and i didn t get anything i don t have any idea what is it? i think there is a connector for this male socket

Is it on the passenger side frame rail?
I have a couple stock 90 cars that MAY have that on them and would be able to help figure that out. Unfortunately, right now it's freezing rain outside so I can't look today. But I can when this cold spell gets through my area.

90 awd turbo did not come in automatic. No automatic until 1991

I need a lot parts for this car First of all i want to start from radiator but i am in Turkey that s why postage cost will be higher Do you have a website for providing low postage cost? For example I buy a part 65 dolars so i pay 70 dolars postage cost
