0-1 billion psi. ARP headstuds or ones made with even stronger metal will get you closer to 1 billion psi.

My friend shortly after his AMS tune at 23 psi ona evo 16gon pump 93 gas blew his stock head gasket with 86k on it.

My advice is get so ARP studs and a new gasket before you start going nuts.

it really depends on the tune, the condition of the head/block mating surfaces andwhat type of head bolts or studs you're running. I personally tuned my car to 28 PSI on a stock head gasket. But, the motor was freshly built with ARP head studs, the head had been planed level and the block was in perfect shape at the mating surface.

you might pop a head gasket at 16 lbs or you may be able to run it as high as i did if you have the knowledge of tuning that is required to safely run that much boost in general. I say if you're thinking about jsut cranking boost thinking hte first thing to go is going to be the head gasket you should think again about turning up the wick.

I popped my first head gasket in 3 places at only 21 lbs due to a faulty wide band reading...turns out I was running 14:1 at that boost level and the meter i was borrowing at the track was poorly kept and was telling me i was safe in the 12.0 - 11.8 A/F's.... We towed the car 2 1/2 hours home with a 97 dodge neon anda tow strap..oh what a night :sosad:

I don't understand how anyone can quote psi numbers. Boost is relative to the turbo it's coming from. Hp/tq, and the cylinder pressures that result through combustion and/or detonation (hope not) is what is going to put stress on the headgasket and the clamping force of the head bolts.

Like some said, if your speaking in terms of a big 16, I've personally seen 20psi on the stock thin gasket. I've personally pushed 30 psi on an SB M50 with an evo headgasket and arp's.

It really comes down to the tune and just plain creating too much pressure for the stock gasket to hold.

There are so many variables, it's not even funny.
These types of questions are right there with bench racing.

If you need a serious answer, you need to ask the question better, and include all necessary details.

Also, please use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling when posting in the tech forums.
