Ok I've been looking at cam set ups and different cams to run with my holset hx35 my goal is 8500 to 9000 rpms and running mid to high 40s in boost my hp goal is 750hp so can anyone tell me if the S3s work good for this set up or no if not what's your opinion on a good cam set up and sorry I forgot to put in there I'm going to be running 2.0 6 bolt in a 2g gsx

uhhh i don't think the hx 35 will get you to 750hp...and youl need a lot...and i mean ALOT of work done to get there...youl probably have to get your cylinder walls sleeved ...please list up your mods..you can't just say you wanna push 750hp on a 6bolt and are deciding on what cams to use...

won't need your walls sleeved but you'll definitely need a lot of work and not just a big turbo to slap on there

Well right now I have stock internals and have a flash able ecu greedy fmic and lil things like arp head studs but that came with the car I have upgraded the fuel system with a wd 300 fuel pump ID 2000 injectors putting my holset on and getting it tuned for now so when I get home I can drive it but my build is no en for 750 but I'd be happy for high 600s and low 700 hp I guess I'd like to hear your guys opinion on if I should do stroker kit or not this is my first dsm I come from building big mud tucks and dirt track race cars but I've always wanted to build a eclipse and my buddy had one in really good shape so I bought it and want to do a big build with it right now I have a 6bolt block and a first gen head for the build but I work on the road so I'm buying alll the parts I need so when I go home I can put it together and my buddy kinda has the same build going but my big issue is I kinda want to be different and not do the same set ups everyone at home has so I'm open for opinions and suggestions please

Kelford cams are probably your best bet for a good high horsepower cam, but just cams and a strocker isnt going to get you 700 hp. And the hx35 isnt a good choice for that power level. The hx40 would be a better choice or a borg warner would be closer to your goals. It takes alot to make that power safely and not have issues. I would do some more research before just throwing money at parts

Better check the Holset results thread before you get too carried away. There are a couple things wrong with this proposed build.

- A HX35 is good for roughly 60 lb/min of airflow depending on your turbine housing selection. This is not enough airflow to make 750whp.

- Once you reach the airflow threshold of the turbo you're using, you can indeed continue to go higher with the boost level....but this is not recommended as it tends to heat the intake charge excessively and is difficult to tune. You can also damage the turbine wheel if there is too much backpressure and EGT's as a result of excessive boost. A more realistic boost threshold for a HX35 would be 35psi or so.

Ya I plan on redoing the car soon right now I'm going to just run with what I have on my car with the Holset and new fuel system and get it tuned put I have a hole nother block and head to build up I have a idea what I'm doing with most of it like pistons I've been looking into wisco pistons and eagle rods the stock crank and my confusion is in the cams and intercooler area I want to everything to flow good with no restrictions so ask me any questions to maybe help me on this build or give me a form name that you think will help me out ### I'm doing this to learn more about turbos and 4 cylinders both things I haven't played with much and been messing with my dsm for about a year now and I'm ready to go all out to make it even more fun to drive and to learn something

But last few days I've been looking into the stroker kits so I'm just wanting some of you that have built a dsm before to to maybe help me out and kinda live me your input I have 2 friends that are really into dsms and they have been helping me put said to check this site out ### it's good for research and getting ideas and input so thats what I'm doing and thanks guys for not treating me like a dum ass for not known a crap ton about a dsm I know some but not like u guys do...

It's going to be easier to help you if you can use proper English. That might of been the longest sentence I've ever read in my life.

Anyways, the easiest thing to do is decide your power or track goal for the car and then look through either the members dyno numbers or track times. Look at their mod lists and see what they have to get where you want to be. An hx35 will not get you 700whp. I don't even think someone with an hx40 has made that much power yet.

You better have some deep pockets to reach 700 and have it be reliable. I think you need to do some research and come up with a realistic goal if you plan to stick with the hx-35.

You also need to.realize that 700 hp is a track car and would not be street friendly at all.

Not entirely true, but very difficult and extremely expensive to make a 700hp dsm a street driven beast!

The HX35 can and has proven wonderful numbers, but to safely reach your goal (has far as turbos) with out the headache of a stubborn tune, i would suggest the hx40 or hx52, IF you want a holset!

Ok sorry about the long sentence. I was doing all that from my phone ### I'm at work. I'll have to look into some of thus stuff more. Another thing is it will still be street legal but, I only get home like two times a year so not like it's a daily driver. I'm in this build to make good power good times learn something while doing this. Other then that let me start here do you guys think I should go stroker or no? Another set up I was thinking about Is Venollia pistons and carrilo rods.

Sorry I see my phone changed this to thus

Another thing is I'm doing this build to have a fun car. Also gives me something to spend my money on besides crap while I'm on the road.

Going to send my tranny to shep. And cluch and pressure plate I'm going to run what I got. Well tell its no good I have a act extreme pressure plate right now and a slowboy street disc. When it's no good anymore I'll go with a racing cluch with twin disk.

Whats wrong with the Holset hx35 7 blade just wondering?

nothing is wrong with the 7 blade hx35. It's a good 500whp with e85 for the most part. I trapped 138 with a 8 blade hx35 which is supposed to have less flow than the 7 blade. I made 527 on 30lbs. I never dyno'd at 38lbs though.

Well ik with e85 it's going to run cooler and has more alcohol in it. Witch will help ik how e85 work the methanol I'd just a additive.oRo make it run even cooler may be an extra 300 dollars but that's not my point. With them both you can almost do anything and not have to worry. To put it clear in this build money isn't a issue I just want a good setup for the money.

I think what people are getting at is, with E85, it is pretty tough to get preignition. Adding methanol to the mix doesn't give any advantage because you can already maximize your timing advance with E85, without knocking.
