Ok I've been looking at cam set ups and different cams to run with my holset hx35 my goal is 8500 to 9000 rpms and running mid to high 40s in boost my hp goal is 750hp so can anyone tell me if the S3s work good for this set up or no if not what's your opinion on a good cam set up and sorry I forgot to put in there I'm going to be running 2.0 6 bolt in a 2g gsx

Drag car that I can still drive on the streets once and awhile for shows and are local get togethers.

With you wanting to make it a drag car, you'll also need to consider all the safety equipment that goes along with a high hp car.

I'd say you have 2 options.
1. Build the car up as is, see what it puts down, how reliable it is, and how much further you want to take it. You may find out that 500hp is enough for you. Have you ever driven or ridden in a car with that much hp?

2. Build the car up to your goals, and do it all at once. This may cost less in the end because of not having to swap out parts after maxing stuff out the first time. It may cause more headaches because of trying to take a car and make it that fast in one shot. It'll all be determined by how detail-oriented and meticulous you are when doing your research, piecing the car together, and building everything.

Yes I have we had a drag car when I was younger. I've only driven a car with 500hp so I'd like more. You make a point and I'll take that into play and probley go with your first opinion since this is my first dsm build. You seem like a very smart guy what's ## opinion on stroker kit? Or would you go a different way.

Strokers are nice for the extra torque. From what I've read and been told though, they're not what you want to put in a drag car because of not being able to rev them as high as a straight 2.0l. I think 2.3's are limited around 8k +/- 500 RPM, where as you could take a 2.0 up to 10k, or even more, as long as you have the proper parts.

I would say to look through the time slips on this site and see what people are running for the times/hp they're putting down. Granted, their profile may not contain the setup they used to make that time or put down those numbers, but most people don't go backwards in a setup.
