Greetings

I'm working on a project 2g DSM and transferring parts from a 1g TSi block that is blown. My Holset HX 35 dosn't want to fit along side the forced performance (FP) intake manifold I had on my old engine. The 2g block is different.

Does anyone have experience with this issue or could recommend a new intake?

Current block:
94 97 MITSUBISHI RVR 2.0L TURBO 7-BOLT ENGINE MANUAL AWD TRAN ECU JDM 4G63 S4887

Thanks!

I think you meant turbo manifold. And I had to go with a rev9 cast manifold and a 1/2" spacer. The holsets are an extremely tight fit to install. Most people go with custom manifolds or work around what we got. I ended up with 3mm to the radiator and 4mm to the water pipe behind it. So it's gunna take some homework to figure it all out

Thanks, I'd rather find a manifold than not use a holset and go back to stock turbo.. Thanks for the tip on the rev9 manifold.

I was at the same point. and honestly get ready to spend alot of money. I had purchased the spacer flange, the holset hx35, a vband .82 ar hot side for the holset, had a custom vband downpipe fabbed up. had to go speed density because of the intake size and youll be maxing out the stock maf, also why not at this point... you need bigger injectors atleast 880, and lots of odds and ends to make it work. it ends up costing you a pretty penny so keep that in mind,(so much for being a budget turbo haha), if i wanted to go on a budget. I would have chosen a turbo that bolts back in to the stock flange. unless your ready to make that huge leap....

Thanks, yeah I had the 1g engine mounted in a 2g car with all the accessories. The build was around the Holset and it was meant to produce power. However, the 1g engine failed on the dyno and bits of metal flakes found in the cylinders upon inspection. I was told around $7,000.00 for a rebuild so instead I bought a used 1g engine. I have the engine mounted and all the accessories mounted but the mechanic was unable to mount the Holset this time...so the engine must be a little different and I think the Forced Precision intake I have isn't going to work anymore and need an alternative.

So maybe the 92 TSi motor I had is different from the 94-97 block I got for the intake?

I'm gonna eye ball the problem this week and order the rev9, its cheap enough that its worth a try.

Then if the DSM gods are pleased, the DSMLink and Dyno will work without eating the motor again :)

Is the turbo just hitting the coolant tube?
