Well started to install my holset set up .55 bep housing stock mani ect. And I know about denting the water pipe but how is every one getting there intake set up my waterpipe about touches the compressor housing without a 4in coupler on it. I'm using a 95manifold are they pitched different or something .? (The black holset is what the pictures I'm seeing when I searched looked like plenty of clearance for an intake.) water pipe is a n/t 1g. I even had to sand the compressor cover about an 1/8 since it was touching the block. Haven't dealt with a lot of holsets is this an odd ball compressor cover or something?

Its a 2g gsx auto with 1g water pipe/ t stat

The only real concern is if your water hose gets caught between the intake pipe and the shifter assembly, as mine did way back when I was on the bolt-on housing with the S200sx in the race cover which is nearly identical to the HX35 in dimension.

My temporary solution was to bend the pipe end a bit, and then take an old piece of rad hose and wrap it around as a sheath.

It's an auto so I don't have to worry about shifter clearance or cuting counter weights off . Looks like I'm going to have to Hack the water pipe up but I'd Like to know why every other 4in intake seems to clear fine if I got a weard housing /exhaust mani or what

Must be and since its a 2g head if I swaped back to the 2g thermostat housing I think the lower hose would be in the way.

My 4" intake hits the lower rad hose too, and I have a 2g/7-bolt so I have a bit more clearance right there. Still touches though.

It also helps to angle the intake coupler a tad towards the radiator, and then counter rotate the hard pipe so it still sits straight. Just a few degrees rotation can make a big difference.

Assuming your talking about an offset coupler? I have a straight 4in, that can be a back up plan I guess.

It's not fun but it did clear I believe I used the 1g hose upside down for more clearance just a thought if any one has this problem .

Sorry about that. I assumed your intake used a 45* pipe and 45* coupler, like this one from STM. But you know what they say about assuming...

Glad you got it solved though. Good tip on the radiator hose too. :thumb:
