Hmmm. Yo no comprendo log

This log is on my '92 tsi with freebies, k&n, mbc at 15psi, ngk plugs, 8mm wires. It was 41 degrees that night, 3rd gear pull. I do not understand why my timing is being taken back when I am not getting knock. With this log, I found my tps maxed at 90% and VSS code, which I haven't fixed either.

You need to datalog slightly differently. First of all, you should drive the car below 2000 rpm, it's not going to like that. On a datalogging pull, don't bother starting below 2500 rpm.

The timing drops at higher engine speeds because the boost comes on and airflow increases.

I can't tell exactly what your timing drops to, but it looks like around 18-20 degrees, which is normal.

Your log looks really good and safe to me. I bet your car is making pretty good power.

Well thanks, its only a 14b but it pulls hard with 150k. I am just starting to log, but I have read alot about it. I have had the car for 5 years but school is really holding me back from learning. I purchased the logging equipment to learn more about my car. Anyhow, once I put the info into csv, I saw that it was fine. I guess the graph appears differently. I hope to get more out of it once I fix a few things. I know I have an exhaust link, a crack in a tb hose, and tps in only at 90%. I am pressure testing it this weekend and adjusting the tb. I hope I can make some more power but I still have plenty of learning to do before I starting upgrading.

I believe that once the car sees 85% throttle and above it treats everything just like it is 100%. As long as your throttle body is opening all of the way I would not sweat over it.
