Sorry, but I can't help you with your problem. I was just wanting to ask a favor. I've been interested in this shifter and was curious as to how short it acually is. Could you post a pic of it installed with the center console on please?

Those are the stock white bushings. I actually took another set off of a parts car and another set off a car in the junkyard, all 1g's. So I am 100% positive they are stock.

i have a 93 tsi and i was looking at short shifters for it, errr short shifter apparently since i've only found fidanza. just seeing if anyone is using this and if it's a good buy and if it works propperly and if theres anything else i might need to make it work or whatev. thanks for any help :thumb:

I recently purchased a fidanza short shifter and the only other company i can find that makes them is pace setter. They both require modifications to make them fit so i will stick to the factory shifter i know we have the odd ball year but i still love it.

I was searching the forums since I had the same problem as project_tsi. I called Fidanza and they told me to increase the size of the hole enough for the bushing to fit. They do not have any intention on correcting the problem and stated that with performance parts some modification will need to be made for them to fit. I was like whatever and modified it using my die grinder.

Yes, Dan (project_tsi) ended up doing the exact same thing to make his fit.

I bought the same exact shifter and ran into the same problem. The tech support advice given is complete crap. Something should be done.

whats funny is it says that for a 90 some modification is needed, so Im guessing since the version that isn't supposed to need modifications to work does need it, the one where they say, "some modifications needed" will be a bi*** to install. Anyone with a 90 know what they are talking about and what it takes?

I am just curious why did they redesign the tranny after 1990 did they find a flaw. i was debateing getting a new tranny.
