Fidanza now makes short shifters for 1g's. Does anyone have one of these or have any info on them.

tylermartindc said:i bought a real fidanza off ebay. install was a breeeeeeze, and the throw is noticably shorter. although it doesn't sit much lower as i had hoped. still, under 100 bucks, easy install, it has lasted about 10 months, and i haven't touched it since it went in. i've been happy with my fidanza, so i would suggest it. althought the real b&m is very nice and very tempting.

Actually, just cutting out an inch of the top shaft *will* shorten the throw. Your hand will travel less with a shorter top half, even without lengthening the bottom/altering the pivot. The pivot will move just as many degrees, but with a shorter shaft, the endpoint travel (aka: throw) is less.
Also, just cutting down the top half retains your OEM shifter assembly bump stops... very important, as over-extending a shift fork is a very easy way to bone your tranny, since as I read it, there are no internal stops.
It doesn't shorten the throw.
Please explain...
It does just as Talesin says. Although the reduction in throw will not be dramatically different and I'm not sure if it is even worth the effort, it will decrease the throw.
. It was funny looking, but worked fine. He took it off the next day. I dunoo i may do this later on if he gets some extra time.
